Nobody's Business

Something I've been working on for a few days. Another one for which Di gave me an idea for a title. She was speaking with someone on the phone and commented, "Well, that's nobody's business.". I picked that from her conversation and used it for the title of this song. I'm terrible with titles for my acoustic creations crazy

It's all acoustic, but a somewhat full band this time. I used the style and replaced the drums, dropped one of the rhythm guitars and replaced it with a mandolin, dropped the resonator guitar and replaced it with a fiddle. Then I added the loop which gives a slight emphasis on the choruses. It has elements of Blues, Gypsy Jazz, Western Swing, and Acoustic Country. Yeah, a real genre mash-up! But I think it works.

Hope you enjoy ... thanks in advance!

PS: The acoustic guitar is a bit loud in a couple of place. I put as much compression on it as I could without losing significant sound quality. This is the best I could tame it.

Yes, it is a mash-up in the best possible way. Really liked listening to this. The music it reminded me the most of was Django... that is a sign of quality!

Hope you are doing well!

Your mash-up works for me, Alan, this sounds great as do all the instrumentals I have heard you produce.

Enjoyed the listen!

Hello Al-David,

Very attractive instrumental composition. The violin fits perfectly and gives it a pleasant charm. Well done

Hi Alan,

As you said, a real assortment of styles and genres, but one that works SO well.

An international sound too - I've heard stuff like this in the Scottish Highlands and
also in France. Truly "un mélange".

Nice and cheerful as well, which is always welcome these days!

Take care, old friend and the best to Di.
Hope the house is progressing.

World music, kind of underground music you don't hear on the radio, but in a small smoke filled pub somewhere on the other side of the world. Or Jim Jarmusch type of indie movie. That's why this is a nice travel to real 'original' music free from commercial chains. Great selection of instruments and mix.

Your composition flows nicely---keeps moving to the next destination, keeping me interested all along the way. I was bouncing along in my chair as I listened. Love the instrumentation and the mix sounded good here.

I got a chuckle out of this song. It amazes me how you navigate all the genres so easily. Very cool guitar

Hi Alan,

A lot of nice things happen in your joyful song!
I like how the violin glued it all so nicely and cheerful together. I only wonder how it would sound with vocals in it.
I recal Di had such a nice voice. If only...

Thanks for the music, Alan and send my best wishes to Di,
Hans

Well done with the recombination...you chose well.

Another truly excellent listen, Alan.

Your instrumentals are SO well done (I'm just gonna keep telling you that).

Even more amazed knowing now that you do this entirely in BIAB (without a DAW).

WOW.

Alan,
You need to hire a Gypsy singer for this! Wonderful composition, begging for lyrics.
Very good mix. Fun story of the title smile Thank you for sharing!

Hi Will ...

Thank you so much! I'm a big Django fan. For a guy with just three functioning fingers on his left hand, he was unbelievable. Hard to believe what he may have done had his hand not been burned so badly.

Best to you. Be safe ...

Hi Scott ...

Glad the song amused you along the way. And I mean that in a sincere and positive way. Just about all genres of music have something good in them if performed well. I just let myself get carried away with whatever pops into my mind. Thanks a bunch! Best to you and please be safe ...

You are a testimony to how much can be done with BiaB alone. Amazing.

Quite the mashup indeed. We were struck by how melodic that fiddle sounded
especially not to be a solo RT.

As Janice said, "It's a happy song!" smile

Well done Al!

Hi Al. Nice acoustic version. Funny how we think alike. I also have a song called "Nobody's Business". I just added the words "Ain't" and gave it an old Motown style.

Howdy Folks!

Thank ya so much for all those kind and humbling comments. And yeah, I was taken by surprise when I listen to that fiddle track. I had listen to 3 or 4 prior to that one, but immediately decided on the one I chose after just 10 - 15 seconds of listening.

Glad you liked it ... thanks for telling me. Take care and be safe ...

Thanks so much, Henry. Your comments always put a smile on my face!

I went over and listened to the link you provided ... terrific flashbacks as I listened! The MoTown sounds of the 60s and 70s are some of the best music I've ever listened to. The Temptations, Four Tops, Marvin Gayt, Sam Cook, etc. You really captured the sound!

Again, thank you for your very nice comments!

Best to you. Be safe, my friend ...

I'm always amazed at how many awesome musicians are hidden in BiaB.

You've done a really nice job finding them and getting them to play together well.
