I'm bombarded with messages from the current president of the good ole USA with a campaign based on a "Law & Order" campaign .

We're told if we vote for the other guy we'll have riots in the streets, total disregard for the law and you won't be safe.

This story ignores the current reality of riots in the streets, 200,000 deaths from C19 and total disregard for the law under his own leadership.

I had to ask a few simple questions.

Here's my song on the subject:

CaptainMoto,
the general process suggests listing what BIAB and other instruments/tracks were used as well as leaving lyrics to read along just to help the "commentariat".
Nice old school dub reggae reverb!
I can't fault the message.
The stereo image is only defined by your L vocal & R reverberated image of it which leaves things leaning heavily most of the time. It'd've been nice for a good, natural stereo spread in the drums to reinforce things.
The vocal is good..in spots you remind me of Richard Hawley - just the tone on the end of phrases but it's a good thing.

Really liked the basic instrumental setting..very effective trio , and your vocal was bare and clear...nicely done.

Captain,

I really like your BAND. Simple and effective. Well mixed.

A good message. Solid write.

Excellent vocal. As ray mentioned, it "leans left" a bit - would be nice to have it move more center. I like the echo effects on it - a lot!

Cool stuff. A good listen.

Ray,
You've got a good set of ears.
Yes, I set the vocal slightly to one side with the echo appearing on the opposite side.
I just might revisit the adding some spread to the drums.
Thanks

Thanks,
I did want this one to be rather simple.
Glad you liked it.

Hello Cap'n ...

Yep ... as everyone has already said ... a really cool song! Your vocal is excellent, as is the message. But I do agree with the suggestion to move the vocal more to the center. the echo doesn't quite fill the right channe, but I like the echo. Niuce little band you put together! Hope you paid them well!!!

Best to you and please be safe ...

I usually don't listen through headphones, but it sounds really good in stereo!

Sparse arrangement, very effective. Excellent match of music to lyrics.

Good song, good writing, and the arrangement works perfectly.

Sounds like something the Doors might have done back in the day.

Enjoyed the listen, well done.

Thanks for listening.
Since the last comment on "vocal" centering, I jumped in to my DAW (Studio One) and ran the vocal into a phase meter.
Strange the comments suggest it should be moved to the center but the phase meter shows it's pretty well balanced there with the echo leaning left.
I'm gonna have to be more cognizant of my effects in the future.

Thanks dcuny,
I was going for a wide stereo field, glad it worked for you.

Thanks Dave,
I've had a few other comments about "Rider's on the storm".
When I started out, I was actually going for more of a U2 feel, guess I missed that mark.

I appreciate your comments.

Hello CaptainMoto,

Excellent reverb on your voice. No tablecloth, the sounds are drier than in your other compositions but it fits well with the message you want to convey. Well done.

Excellent write and vocal along with the band!

The arrangement is very engaging...lovin' that bass.

The slight pan of the vocal worked fine for us.

Well done!

Thanks,
Please don't tell the authorities, no BIBA used on this one.

CaptainMoto,

Yeah, this has a nice vibe—really clean, simple arrangement really accentuates the sound and message. Bass slays! Some good suggestions above—I don’t have a strong preference, but I do think the vocal more centered would fit a bit more with the feel of the tune (though it works mighty fine as is).

All my best,

Deej

Strong write and excellent vocal, Captain. Simple, but powerful. Nicely done.
