I really believe music can heal.

This was written after a girl in a blue dress approached me after a gig in the mid 70s saying how much our music made her feel better after a deep depression.

Played this live a few times and always introduced it as the song for the girl in the blue dress, whoever she was.

This is the first time I've recorded it, this time my band is BIAB, hope you like it.

Rock and Roll Healer

He’s your rock and roll healer
He can ease your fever
He’s your rock and roll healer
Whenever you want

He’s your rock and roll spice
Spice up your life
He’s your rock and roll spice
Carolina reaper

He’s your rock and roll lover
Don’t tell your mother
He’s your rock and roll lover
Whenever you dream

He gets round to being everything
Always turns up in anything
He’s your rock and roll lover

I’d like to be alone with you
Whenever you’re blue
I’d like to be alone with you
Whenever I want

I can take you away tonight
If the vibes are right
I can take you away tonight
To where you’ve always dreamed

I’m your rock and roll healer
And I can give you fever
I’m your rock and roll healer
For tonight

Some of the doubled vocals need to be tidied - particularly the 1st "He’s your rock and roll spice".
The vocals sound a little "under a blanket" in this..it may be the doubling doing that in a phasey way.
I don't think the tom reentry works very well but it's OK.
Ah, as in most instances, the tambourine is a little loud though that can be managed with a little EQ tweak.

Hi mr. Jones,

I read this is your first contribute to the BiaB forum. So Welcome!
And an entrance with a rocker from the 70's for a girl dressed in blue. I got curious, but read you never saw her again.
That is not the reason it brings me to your song, but in this forum we mainly talk about our songs.

I think you did a nice job on this one.
But I also agree with Ray on the issues he wrote.
If you are able to clear that up, this will be a very nice song, the melody already is!

Stay safe,
Hans

Great rock vibe!! Yes, I agree music can heal. Not sure where I'd be without it. Like the sound and the energy of this track!! Harmonica works well! NICE!! Take care. Greg

That's some smokin' guitar work in there. What a great story. I totally agree that music can heal. Creating, playing, and listening to music has been a tremendous boon to me over the years.

H japokeapeg,

this one is different: rough all the way. Like always Ray is right with his remarks as far as I'm concerned, but I can easily imagine that you had wanted it to sound exactly the way it does. And that works for me, too, I can tell you.

Oh yeah, R&R sure is a healer.

Reakky enjoyed the listen.

Cheers,

Stefan

Fun vocals, cool classic vibe.

Tambourine might be a bit loud.

Loved the harmonica.

Enjoyable listen! laugh

japokeapeg,
fun rocker! As with other tunes I have heard by you here, it seems you mastered skill to mix to sound like a live vintage gig. I agree with earlier comments on Tambourine, but overall sounds great! Liked what you did on ending. Thank you for sharing.

Misha.
