Hi all, being shutdown I’ve not been playing therefore I find little interest in creating new backing tracks for my live performances. I get bored so I played about with orchestration. Yesterday I put some chords into BB using NR_GENT+.STY GENT Nashville Rock +.

I then applied:
Addictive Drums as the Drums
Vienna Instruments (VI) Synchron Piano (Intimate) for piano
VI Synchron SI Double Bass for the Bass
I used VI Big Bang Andromeda for the backing orchestra using the Acoustic Guitar track (The orchestra replaces the guitar but uses the guitars midi)
Then the second Guitar (electric) to AmpleSound AGM (acoustic guitar).

I added a Violin VI Synchron SI Violin 1 for the melody and the Violin 11 For the harmony.

This all just fell into position. I am still to clean it up (but usually that means destroying it). So I put it on Soundcloud for a listen.

Deleted and readded It to Soundcloud to clean it a little. It was too hot just dropped the mater input slightly. Hope it still plays.

Thanks

Tony

Tony,

A good listen. Pleasant orchestration.

I thought the melody (violin) would work better (blend a bit better) if it were not panned so far left - and could use a bit of reverb to also help it blend (and have less of a "midi violin" sound).

Good builds throughout.

Thanks FJ, I agree, I left the instruments where Vienna Symphony have them panned. As a melody I reckon it should be somewhere near the middle. That is easy fixed.

Thanks Scott. It is nice to have someone listen. This is something way away from what i normally do.

Hi again, Thanks for the comments. I've moved the melody more to the middle (not where it naturally sits). Also made a few slight adjustments and put it through Ozone 9.

Thanks again,

That's a better balance, Tony...

Thanks FJ.

The other was how it came out of the box just the notes as is. The tune itself is very simple.

I see a number posts regarding how and what instruments to apply to midi. In this case the BB style NR_GENT+.STY GENT. Nashville Rock + which is essentially country/rock based style with guitars, piano and bass. I just sent some of the the tracks to orchestral instruments to come up with something different.

There are many ways to get a result using BB either RealTracks or MIDI.

My thoughts

Tony
