First song I have written in a few years. I guess I needed to break up with my GF to get to that pain point again in order write something new. lol

I finally decided to put it up on here since I could not have done it without BIAB.

Honestly I don't recall the pop real tracks I used but my guess is most of the pros on here would recognize it. I added a little synth in the chorus and then my own guitar on the outro - albeit a little out of sync probably need to redo it. But it was more about catching the mood of the heartbreak. Thanks for Listening

Willingly

Verse:
You were right, I’m no good without you in my life.
I close my eyes, see your face, tell myself that you’re still mine.
But I know that’s just a lie
Cause my heart still aches and cries for you
And there’s nothing I can do…

Chorus:
Knowing that I let you go, willingly is killing me.
How Could I have let you go, willingly, it’s killing me.

Verse:
Promises never kept, linger in my head.
All the ways I let you down, and the words I should have said.
Proof of heaven in front of me
I was blind refuse to see the truth
Till I was losing you…

Chorus:
Knowing that I let you go, willingly is killing me.
How could I have let you go, willingly, it’s killing me.

Bridge:
Give me one more day, one more kiss, one more night of endless bliss with you. Baby give me one more chance.
No more sun, no more rain, all my days fade to grey, without you…

Instrumental break and then chorus out.

Welcome to the forum.

A nicely done break up song with a melodic chorus. Well performed and written.

Hi Jeff.
Nice one. Very melodic and well sung. Reminds me a little of Elvis Costello.

Well done, Jeff. It reminds me of the 60s Brit Rock, and I love it. Nice harmony and changes.

Really well done, I'm a sucker for a good heartbreak song. Thought the guitars were powerful and the vocals were distinct and memorable. Somewhat else mentioned a Costello comparison and I totally hear it too.

Nice work - thanks for sharing!

YES!
60's Brit invasion sound for sure.
Well done!

If I heard this on the radio I'd be easily convinced it was a 60's hit.

Nice job.

Hey thanks for the listen. I'm glad I'm hearing folks on hear mention the 60's brit rock feel as I wasn't really sure what it was to be honest.
Thanks

Yes, very 60s California sound and early 80s new wave pop. Love that chorus. Very lush sounding.

This reminded me of Marshall Crenshaw immediately. Very well done, congratulations.

Really good song and arrangement.
You've a fair chunk of proximity effect and sibilant stuff going on in the vocal track.
Both can be managed in the mix but are better avoided in tracking.
Probably bypassing the frequencies that ess in your reverb'd help too.

Smooth recording. Nice heartbreaker Pop song. Sounds like Everly Brothers, et. al. style song. Music is good. Not sure what's BIAB but it works well.
