New Country

C#m A F#m B

All these signs through all these years,
have you really thought, they would disappear.
All these hints through all of this,
have you really thought, that you could ignore.

E A D E

Now you finally got the chance to
finally go the way you
always were supposed to.

D A F#m E

New Country, three chords and the truth, let´s go
New Country, cause it never gets old.
New Country, whatever you may find, let´s keep
New Country always alive.

Through all these fears we already passed
and through all these hopes, that will last at last.
Through all this peace, that we lost and found
And through all the love, that may come out of.

Now you finally got the chance to
finally go the way you
always were supposed to.

New Country, three chords and the truth, let´s go
New Country, cause it never gets old.
New Country, whatever you may find, let´s keep
New Country always alive.

WOW what a fantastic song. Your vocal is outstanding and your backing tracks and mix were perfect. IMHO this is as good as anything on country radio today.

To nitpick that only thing that I found distracting was the abrupt ending. Maybe a fad out would be better. YMMV

I like it! Very nice

Fantastic!
Love the melody, the band, the lyrics and of course the vocals.
Such a a pure and clear delivery of the lyrics.
So Good!

Feedback:
I hesitate to suggest you do anything to change this, however.....
I'm listening on headphones and the bass sounds a little overpowering.
Could be just bas heavy phones, I'll give it a listen in the studio later, I'm sure it will sound even better there.

Loved this song. I'm listening on good quality earpads and the bass is perfect for me. Agree with Mario that a fade out might be better at the end ?

Really nice write, arrangement, production and performance. Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Very cool song. Well done

Nice arrangement.
The vocal seems a little distant or disembodied.
Did you throw a heavy high pass filter on it as there seems no lower mids or bottom end on the voices?
It's even more so when the heavy drum beat comes in and takes up so much of the bottom end - especially in the chorus, (sounds like the vocals are next door and the drum kit is in the listening room.

Really good song. Nothing needs fixing, just go do another one.

Have fun,

I like it. It tells a story and the melody is strong enough to carry the storytelling. Excellent - well done.

Rebecca,

Cool tune! Like the prosody on this—the repetition of both words and notes that give the song a strong structure (e.g., “all” in the first two verses). Really good vocal with some nicely mixed in harmonies. “Three chords and the truth”—great line. Nice internal rhymes in the pre-chorus as well. Definitely in ear worm territory with this. Well done!

All my best,

Deej

Very well recorded, sounds like it's radio ready now. It did take me by surprise on the ending, but that's "New Country"!!

Great song. You remind me of the singer in 10,000 Maniacs. Great lyrics. The melody is catchy. Good one. Good use of BIAB too.

Very nicely done!! Really well written and performed!! From my perspective, I would EQ the vocal to increase the Lo freqs a bit to add a bit more body to the vocal and maybe turn the highs down just a bit. Very good stuff!! Take care. Greg

Hi Rebecca ...

What a wonderful song! I particularly enjoyed the dramatic differences in the drums. Every time they came in with the power parts, it totally refreshed the dynamics of the performance and listen. I do agree with Greg about possibly adding just a little more EQ on the vocal.

And speaking of vocals, the harmony was so nice and your voice is a very pleasant listen. And the unexpected ending was a very nice surprise.

Happy Holidays to you and yours from both of us.

Missed this the first time around!

I recall hearing one of your prior songs, and it's got the same sort of professional feel to it. Solid writing, excellent ear for pop, well-done vocals. smile

I agree with what others have said about the ending - it just sort of... ends. Which feels like a downer, and really goes against the thesis of the song. It leaves me feeling down, instead of powered by "New Country".

Your vocals are excellent, they're a bit "overcooked" - too bright and fatiguing to listen to.

Similarly, there balance between the instruments and the vocals feels off - I feel like I want to turn the volume up to hear the instruments better, but the vocal is plenty loud.

None of which is to imply the song isn't good or I didn't enjoy it - see the second paragraph! laugh

Rebecca and Jochen, you always produce and deliver the most brilliant material.

This is no exception.

So much to like about every part of this song. The sensitive breaks, the drive, the lyrics, the vocals, everything is outstanding.

Very well thought out and beautiful recording.

Absolutely LOVE your voice!

Regarding the song: The melodic lift is in the pre-chorus (which is fine) but then the chorus drops. My personal prefernece as a listener (and songwriter) is that building the lift slightly into the PC and then exploding it in the chorus is much more appealing. It also then highlights the hook - in your case - New Country.

Just my two-cents. I look forward to hearing more from you to be sure!!

Na zdrowie!

Hi Rebecca and Jochen,

Glad to hear you again here. In my idea it has been a long time since I hear your beautiful song!
But I could be mistaken...

A very nice song you made. Good vocals and a very good playing band! I liked your vocals and background vocals playing in this song.
The only thing I missed (a bit) was your way of singing in your other songs. There you sang half a sentence and start the other part as if it is a new line. I liked that effect very much. I haven't tried it in my songs though...

But it was a very pleasant listen,
Hans

Hi Rebecca and Jochen,

Great job on the songwriting and arrangement, I like the instruments dropping and coming back in to keep it dynamic and interesting.

Those drums sound great.

The vocals are well done and the background vocals a very clever and really sound great.

Again great job, thanks for sharing.

Frank

this is really very nice.
love what you did with the vocs/production.
and the harmony vocs.

i agree with billy. go do another song.

what bugs me is, i hear so much talent like this song on the pg user showcase that cranks me up, then i listen to a lot of the hit parade commercial top 100 which doesnt crank me up, and think to myself the music worlds gone topsy turvy...lol

huge kudos.
best
