Summary of lyrics:

I wonder when I was loved by you
I still feel like it was only yesterday

If I turn around
I feel as if you are still there and smiling

As time goes by
The trace I’d loved fade away day by day

But I have always been unable to communicate
With any other women I have known since then

Memories linger in my weakened heart
Only old dreams breathe faintly in me

When I become aware of myself
I am watching at the flow of the river
That we two were seeing side by side at that time

I remember those happy days also today
And I remember the dazzling two of us
Who dreamed of the future together
Hi Shigeki ...

I have to confess I do not know what song this is a tribute to. But I do know I like it a lot! Your arrangements are always so full and vibrant. The strings are simply gorgeous. And the YAMAHA student did an excellent job on the guitar lead. Your vocal is perfect for the songt. It was a wonderful listen. You are such a marvelous music composer!

Wishing you the best.

Alan
Shigeki Adachi, what a brilliant tribute. So well arranged and your voice is the perfect addition. There is a lot of pleasure in your sound.
Beautiful song Shigeki. Lovely vocal and backtrack
Shigeki Adachi,

Very well done. A great sound. Well mixed.

Enjoyed your vocal. Your string arrangements are always well done.

A very enjoyable listen.

fj
Really nice. Good vocal!

Nice arrangement and mix - sounds good in my headphones and speakers.

The strings are excellent - only bits in the higher register made me think then might not be actual strings. Love the string runs.

Although there are certain similarities to a certain song, it's pretty subtle.

I like this song a lot! laugh
Lovely arrangement...the strings sing.
There're some sibilant spots in the vocal that could be tamed to enhance the overall feel.
Shigeki,
Sweetly romantic with lovely strings and a good vocal ( we don`t hear you sing often; you are in fine form).
I think I know your song reference- its subtle though.
A very good and appropriate band for the style and, as always, very well mixed.

Robert
How cool to hear you sing!

Yep, a tribute to a pretty good band smile

As always your orchestral arrangements are captivating.

It is very well written, performed and mixed.

Most enjoyable!

Shigeki

Lovely work - the strings sound superb.

Enjoyed your vocal and the guitar work.

Pro sound and performance.

Lovely work, Shigeki. Really enjoyed your vocal, and a wonderful arrangement - kind of like that famous song reimagined by Burt Bacharach.

Leon

P.S.
This song is based on The Beatles' "Yesterday", as the translated title suggests.
The motif pattern of the melody of the A part of "Yesterday" is used as it is.
However, the interval (mainly using 3 degrees below) and the chord progression were changed.
I - VIIm7 - III7 - VIm (Original), I - Vm7 - I7 - IVmaj7 (This tune)

Shigeki, your arrangements are always absolutely first class.

This is no exception. Brilliant arrangement, outstanding production. The strings in particular are quite remarkable, and all delivered through a sensational vocal.

Everything here is absolutely first class. Thanks for allowing us to enjoy this masterpiece.
Hi animarorecords,

You manage to create soft atmospheres with a choice of super well-made realtracks. The melody is very pleasant. Well done.

My gosh!!!! This is such an impressive song and you sing it incredibly well.

I love the relaxed style of your vocals. There’s a hint of jazz in your presentation that I like a great deal.

While I don’t speak Japanese, I can hear that you’ve put a lot of effort into choosing words that flow from syllable to syllable. The language sounds that I’m hearing fit so well to the melody and glide so nicely from note to note.

Also as I listened, it seemed like the words you chose ended mostly with vowel sounds. Is this by design or do Japanese words end mostly in vowels?

As I was trying to work out what song your tribute was dedicated to, I narrowed it down to “Yesterday,” “Yesterday Once More” and “Yesterday When I Was Young.” I eliminated “Yesterday Once More” and then couldn’t decide between the other two. I was fooled by the hint of a French sound in your arrangement. As is often the case when I listen to your songs, Francis Lai and Paul Mauriat music came into my mind. This was why I thought that you might have dedicated this song to “Yesterday When I Was Young.”

That’s when I cheated. I scrolled down and found out it was “Yesterday”! Because I know that the melody of Yesterday’s A-sections is 7 bars long, I listened closely to what you did. I was impressed. At the seventh bar, you added a pause on all instruments. This gave a hint eight bars of music without destroying the feeling of seven bars of melody. From my point of view, that alone is worth a round of applause.

I really, really enjoyed listening to this composition.

All the best,
Noel

P.S. Congratulations to the Yamaha guitar students, too. His playing was great!
Shigeki,

What a terrific tune . . . really melodic and flowing. Wonderful production; great vocal. Just pretty to listen to. Very well done!

I think you are just like Agatha Christie in music.
You see through the musical composition tricks I've set up one after another.

Regarding Japanese, all Japanese words end in vowels.
Rather, all Japanese syllables consist of a combination of one consonant and one vowel or one vowel only.
So the first line of the lyrics is written in alphabets as follows.
"i - tsu - da - ro - o, a - i - sa - re - te - i - ta - no - wa"
If you want to know more about Japanese pronunciation, please see the link below.
