In 2012 we were blessed with a new member of the family. My oldest brother's first grandchild. I made a song for her but did not finished it as I felt it needed more work. I finally finished. it last week. I haven't posted any instrumentals lately as most have my time has been spent with Ray and Robert. You never know this song may get lyrics and a vocal in the future..

Hope you like it

Very nice laidback mood with this one, Scott! Good tone and melodic lines.

Let it be what it wants to be, Scott. This is a really pretty piece. I get little hints of Hawaii in the lead which gives a great flair to the sweetly laid-back backing band. I did enjoy it.

Hi Scott,

I enjoyed listening to this a lot.

Your playing mesmerised me. I love how you've taken a straight feel but somehow you've managed to create a slight hint of swing. That really appealed to me and I still trying to work out how you did it! I bet your brother's granddaughter likes it!

Nice work!

All the best,
Noel

There seems to me a peaceful elation in the melody. Very well done.

On my speakers the bass guitar was sort of buried. And the Left and right channels felt bright in a way that distracted my attention away from your beautiful melody. But it might simply be my speakers.

Much enjoyed!

Hi Scott,

I think Elena will get married by the time you have lyrics on this beatiful melody with the impressing leadguitar!
But I believe (as a singer) you need vocals in it. If only for Elena!

At the beginning of may I will become a grandpa too, for the first time! A girl. So, I have to make a song on that event too, but I will tell her later I had to see her grow up, so I could make a very nice song. and that this took me some years. There I will point at you; hear the result, it was worth waiting, I then say to her.

But make lyrics and let Robert sing.
And don't wait till my grandchild gets married...

Scott,
A lovely melody you`re playing, like a musical balloon floating happy hopes for the young lass(almost the same age as my youngest).
Its just fine as is, though you never know about that lyric guy!

Thanks T for checking out the song. I sometime wonder where my sounds and songs come from. Must be old memories of things that I have heard in the past.

We can see her twirling around making soap bubbles!

The melody and guitar chops are most lovely and the mix sounds good on our monitors.

Glad you went back to it!

Pretty and light tune. Good use of synths in combination with RTs and your guitar. Yes, time for lyrics smile

Scott,

It's true that there are many collaborations with Robert these days, but when I listen to your instrumental work for the first time in a while, I'm familiar with it.
The deeply echoed Hank Marvin-like guitar sound is always nice to listen to.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best regards.

Hi Scott ...

First, congrats on the new family member!

This song has an enchanting and peaceful vibe to it. Love the echo/delay - finding the sweet spot for it isn't always easy as it can be over-used or it can be inadequate to the desired effect. And yeah ... you found the center of the sweet spot! Nice playing and a wonderful listen.

Best to you & yours. Take care.

Hi Scott C,

Superb melody very gripping. The guitar makes us feel your emotions and that's great. You have managed to make your instrument speak and it is already very good. Making a guitar speak is quite an art. I enjoyed it.

Lol I think I have planted a seed of interest for Robert. Elena loves the song and hopefully if all works out we will have lyrics and a vocal in the future. And yes I think Robert would be perfect for the vocal.

Thanks Robert as you can see there are a few people lobbying for a vocal and lyric :-). Glad you liked it.

Well, this challenge Robert can't ignore. I'm sure!
Maybe he can get some inspiration from that Greek song Helena (pronounced Elena).

But thanks for your positive reaction, Scott!

Really nice feel, Scott. You really captured the feel of loving a child here. As an instrumental it gives us a chance to close our eyes and imagine the little ones in our lives. A excellent example of how music touches our soul.

Congratulations to the Collingwoods! Fine song, "Elena."
While I've been wrapped up in my own pursuits, Scott,
Janice, Bud, Ray, Spirit Level and other huge talents
have been quietly producing fantastic tracks and vids.
The authoritarian theme is fantastic. Blue is Nothing
is out of this world. I'm just catching up with the
extent of you guys and it is impressive, indeed. So
congrats, too, on that.
