Hi All,

Here's something called Goodbye Stockholm.

I went to see you in the midnight sun
Arlanda touch down like I'm on the run
Will I find you by the station
Like some cosmic amalgamation

I know the night tries to get the best of me
New York City was not my destiny
Will you meet me in the morning
You don't need to give a warning

Cause I am gone
I am gone
I keep finding ghosts hej då Stockholm
Yeah I'm going home

I hear Berlin Bowie on the radio
Station to Station seemed so long ago
Will you listen to your favorites
This song is brief so we should savor it

Cause I am gone
I am gone
I keep finding ghosts hej då Stockholm
Yeah I'm going home

Cause I am gone
I am gone
I keep finding ghosts hej då Stockholm
Yeah I'm going home

Bob...I enjoyed this very much...the instrumentation was great, clear and clean...mid-tempo is hard to beat...I like the rasp in your vocal...very cool...thanks for posting...Dan

I like the moody arrangement - it captures a melancholy sound well.

Since I didn't really follow David Bowie that closely, I found the Wikipedia page on Station to Station interesting reading. So thanks for including that reference.

The song feels briefer than it actually is - I listened to it several times. laugh

Bob,

This sounds awesome man. It is so good to hear you again. I still can't get Woodstock out of my head. How many years ago was that??

Bob,
Good to hear your cool, instantly recognizable music, here again.
This has some good lines, like:

" Will I find you by the station
Like some cosmic amalgamation"

Nice!

Excellent drum track and of course, a signature Robert Dean vocal.
Very much enjoyed.

Bob,

Great to see you back!

Another thought-provoking lyric. I always enjoy your writes and the BAND you assemble to carry it. A real "signature" sound.

I like it!

Great song about my hometown! I really like the melody. I would've gotten a Bowie vibe even if you hadn't mentioned him in the lyrics.

Bob, your songs always evoke such vivid imagery for me. The words and the sounds you create put me in a place and a time. I think that is what they call art.

much enjoyed!

Hello Robert,

Well, that has been a long time waiting for this very nice song.
Good your back again! Don't let me wait that long for your next song...

The guitar started forcefully and gave the spirit to the song.
The rhythm is very good, like the melody and the lyrics of course
But a little sad you only found 'ghosts hej då Stockholm'

And like you said: This song is brief so we should savor it
I did savor it a lot!

Glad to hear another song from you, safe and sound rsdean music. Nice to read Sweden references, so close, also other town droppings give the story continuity. The chorus is really enjoyable. Very good mix, the guitar and drums are well in balance. And your voice is trusty as always. Some high pitch drum sound on the left in the chorus is bit disturbing, but anyway this is very good comeback.

Firstly, great to hear from you.

Secondly, you remain an absolute master at putting together all RT/RD tracks that so convincingly sound like a bunch of guys/gals who've played together for years. And an excellent mix.

Thirdly, excellent write as so many have mentioned.

"I know the night tries to get the best of me
New York City was not my destiny
Will you meet me in the morning
You don't need to give a warning"

Nice.

Finally your Americana firmly based vocals well deliver
the lyric.

Enjoyed it!

Bob,

It’s good to hear another Bob Dean tune . . . seems like it’s been a while. And this is classic; your signature sound . . . engaging from start to finish. Love how clean your guitars and percussion are, and how well they resonate in your mixes—they really just pop. Excellent write, excellent vocal, excellent tune!

My best regards to you,

Deej

Good write, Bob. I like how the melody develops into a catchy hook. It's one of those songs that keeps ya bouncing all day. It's like "Well, I'm gone, but I'm taking you with me, Stockholm."

Sounded like Space Oddity until the vocals came in.
"hej då ..." had me wondering and I looked it up...makes sense but the obscurity, (I assume), of the language use remained perplexing.
That slightly gruffer rhythm guitar was an interesting textural variation.
After my mind settled down room the conundrums you provided it was a pleasant listen.
