Been so wrapped up in the other life and a new computer (arghhh!) I forgot to post this one.

I like the way this one builds. Interesting lyric with a catchy chorus. Excellent backing.
Oh, this is a good production and a well done song. Even if this is not my preferred kind of music, I can easily hear that this is well made. Good work!
Will
Well constructed song, Vic with a really engaging chorus. Nice build and a warm, lived-in vocal. Enjoyed it.
Regards,
Leon
Well constructed and well sung. Has an authentic folk sound. I liked it a lot.
Wow, you paint images with words, melody, and an engaging feel. Peeling daisy pedals and revealing the ups and downs of love. Nicely done, Vic.
Hi Vic
You do these organic folk songs so well. This one has a kind of Steve Earle/Dylan vibe which I like. The song builds well with all the stringed instruments . I enjoyed this.
cheers
Gary.
Thank you Ghostgum.
Glad to hear.
Vic
Thanks Will.
Appreciated.
Vic
Vic,
This is a great song. Love your vocal and arrangement. Awesome chorus.
So well done...
Bob
Vic,
Liked it a lot—really cool folk feel to this. And your vocal matches up so well with the style; sits neatly in the mix. Catchy chorus as well. Good stuff!
Hope all is well with you,
Deej
Hi Leon.
Thanks. I like the "lived in" vocal. Sounds about right. Like an old pair of jeans.
Vic
Sounds simple but unique. I like the acoustic sound, not overdriven, and you can even hear the brushes in the drums, doesn't need a lot of percussion!!
Vic,
Good write! I like poetry and your phrasing on this. Good morphing from folky to more more harder style. The only thing I thought a guitar entry at 1:05 was a bit too loud. Thank you for sharing.
Misha.
Heartfelt performance.
Band/production sounds good. Love the overall sound and feel of this song.
A tasty bit for sure!
Band and vocals mesh well.
A nice write.
Moto
Thanks Gary. You're probably right about the Steve Earle influence.
Vic
Bob.
Thank you for the kind comments.
Glad you liked it.
Vic
Hi Deej.
Always supportive. Thank you.
Vic
Thanks Ronnie.
I did debate whether to leave the drums out but I think they enhance the chorus.
Vic
Thanks Misha.
You should know about poetry. Your songs are full of it.
You may be right about the 1.05 but I wanted it to spring out at you.
I'll have another listen though.
Vic
Glad you liked it Ezekiel.
Thank you.
Vic
Thank you captain for the kind words.
Hi Tunemonger.
Thanks for your kind comments.
Vic
Hi Marty.
Sorry for the delayed reply. I got a little lost.
Thank you for the generous comments.
Vic
vic,
it'd be nice to read your lyric and have a clue which BIAB bits you used.
The jump to a bigger band sound is pretty sudden though foreshadowed, as Misha mentioned, by that louder guitar.
I can hear why you panned the snare in the mix but, for me, it doesn't really fit in nowhere land like that.
Lovely vocal recordings.
I think that backing vocal swamps the lead a little in spots but that's no big deal.
Cool song.
Vic,
A nice folky-bluegrassy-Country song. Sounds good.
fj
Hi Rayc. Thank you for the comments.
I didn't pan the snare. The drums were ready mixed biab straight out of the box country even.
The rest of the line up was:
592 acoustic bass
3381 fiddle
3155 mandola
3699 3057 3185 acoustic guitars
I forgot to post the lyrics so I'll remedy that now:
Loves me. Loves me not ©2021 Vic Arnold
V1
I know a woman from up the line.
We meet up now and again.
Warms me up like summer shine.
Then cools me down like winter rain.
Sugar sweet and twice as fair.
Like a willow bends and sways.
There's no one like her anywhere.
Seems no method in her ways.
Ch.
But she loves me.
Sometimes she loves me not.
Sometimes cold, sometimes hot.
Blows through my door like a hurricane,
through my mind then out again.
V2
Has her thoughts set on her dreams,
travelling down her winding road.
I help her find the way it seems.
Happy just to share the load.
One day maybe, don't know when,
from her misty far off place,
she'll come back to my arms again.
Spend some time in my embrace.
Ch.
But she loves me.
Sometimes she loves me not.
Sometimes cold, sometimes hot.
Blows through my door like a hurricane,
through my mind then out again.
Cheers
Vic
Hi Floyd
Thanks for the listen.
Vic
Reminded us of the great stuff Kevin Welch and Welch with Kieran Kane were doing in the 90's. Well worth checking out Welch's "Patch of Blue" album.
And that is a huge compliment from Janice as she still, as I do, listens to them.
The acoustic band is really good and convincingly mixed as per a live act.
The write is chock full of good lines and your vocal delivered them most excellently.
Nice!
J&B
Great folk song. Loved it.
Great vocal and lyrics.
Super choice of instruments.
Outstanding mix.
Are you playing your guitar in this one?
Fantastic song.
Hey J&B I remember them. I think I had a cassette tape.
Thanks for the comments.
Vic
Hi Mario.
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it.
I mostly only play live. BIAB behaves itself better. :-)
Vic
Really well done!!! This has such an authentic, organic feel to it!!! Just a really, really easy song to listen to! Love the vocal delivery!!! Great stuff!! Take care. Greg
Thanks Greg.
Organic I like. I try not to over produce.
Vic
Lovely song. Super vocal and excellent back track. Well done
Thank you Scott.
Music to my ears.
