LOVE'S NEW FRONTIER LOVE'S NEW FRONTIER video While I certainly haven't arrived there yet, the message in this song
is what I strive for daily! It's about taking the "high road".
When I first heard the Motown Funky Triplets Realdrums set a couple of
years ago I knew I had to do a song with those and here it is. BIAB has
the BEST sounding drums out there IMHO! I'm still working with eq's and
mixing but I kind of like what I hear. Thanks everyone for having a listen.

Love's New Frontier
Words and music by Torrey Bliss ©2021
Laid back no worries for today
No stress no hurry is how I play
When some go low we will go high
The road's not crowded there
To leave the darkness for the light
And find loves new frontier
Look for the best in those you know
Where they have failed just let it go
When some go low we will go high
The road's not crowded there
To leave the darkness for the light
And find loves new frontier
Wanting to fight and criticize and magnify
Faults of others
You know that it's bringing you down
Start on the quest bring out the best
Lift the oppressed let hope manifest
Then you'll soaring up high
Cool backtrack Torrey. Super vocal. Song has a 70's feel to it. Harmonies were excellent. The megaphone effect was pretty cool as well. Well done...
Torrey...great track...as usual the vocals are top-notch and harmonies are excellent...the harmonica is Stevie Wonderish which adds to the Motown vibe and the message and attitude of the the lyric is positive and redemptive which is a very good combo...great write and great recording...best regards...Dan
The opening "Harmonica" harmony was pure, (Torrey), Bliss.
Shades of Little Stevie Wonder amongst other things.
The doubled guitar lies too.
The treated vocal was excellent fun and a cool touch - part Leslie speaker & part megaphone.
You're in fine voice and your playing is on point.
The whistle blow was also a little nuance that was well worth inclusion.
EXCELLENT.
WOW !...so different.
lots of interesting sound pictures.
great lyrics.
catchy and well done.

We love hearing the positive feedback! We think the drums are pretty slick too. And you did a great job utilizing them! Thank you for taking the time to post on the forum here and share with us. We love getting to listen to how creative everyone is and it is definitely a highlight in my day to see how people are using the program. The combination of elements you used for this song really give it a unique flare.
Have a wonderful weekend!
As noted already, musically, there are shades of Stevie Wonder. However, vocals remind me very much of The Turtles (1965-71). Great track, Torrey, thanks for sharing.
Torrey,
This is absolutely great from every aspect... Song, vocal & mix sound pro.
This is really something special.
Loved it - my new favorite from you.
Bob
A breath of fresh air here ! ,you should be proud of this song !.
The layout is as it should be , the lyrics to me are the shine on this !!.
Thanks
Hi Torrey,
Terrific song!
Yes Ghostgum is onto it - I can definitely hear strains of Flo and Eddie (Turtles & Mothers Of Invention) here - not just the vocals - also the melody.
Plus wonderful youthful "Stevie Wonder" Chromatic Harp playing.
PG Music - this is what I have been "harping" on about in the Real Tracks Wishlist forum for the last 5 years - we need some real quality Blues Harp and Chromonica Real Tracks - both Blues and Jazz/Pop oriented.
I'm afraid I can't think of any suggestions at all for this song - it is all great.
Best Regards
Nigel
Wow. You most definitely achieved the high road of talent, Torrey. This is extreme, man. So many interesting pieces in there including (but not limited to) the harmonica and whistle. Every instrument masterfully played with such care for the ensemble. I agree with Ray that the harmonica sounds like Little Stevie, and you most assuredly have his older Wonder in there too. Well played, and you know I'm a huge fan of you vocals and your extended range.
Very nice intro (bit Sting feeling) and the harmonica sounds like Mr. Wonder joins in. Also bit Mr. McCartney here and there. But most of all, it's your sense of pop that shines. Nicely positive message
"Look for the best in those you know
Where they have failed just let it go"
the vocals, the mix and the band work very well. Enjoyed also the Motown groove and the use of the piano.
Janne
Thanks Scott! It means a lot to me that you seem to always take time to listen and comment! I appreciate it! T
Man, you are on a roll these days, Torrey!
Love the opening piano. Harp sound good too, especially as you are playing it from your keyboard!
Nice changeup at around 1:42, very cool what you did there with the vocal. And love what you were doing on the bass during that section!
Excellent!
Firstly, Janice immediately commented that it sounds like a lost track from the Magical Mystery Tour album!
Your lyric reminded us of a Dylan (I think) quote that referred to people who had rather pull you down into their hole than come up where you are.
Your performances were most impressive. How nice it must be to be able to do all of that oneself.
We enjoyed the audio and the vid!

Hi Torrey,
Such a good song... It reminded me of the music I listened to in my childhood in the 70's... good memories brought back by your music...
You are a master of this craft!
Will
Sounds great Torrey, you are on a roll!
I should say, Torrey's triumphant return to the forum. I'd almost forgotten how cool the harmonica can sound !
Love it Torrey! Sounds great to me. Cool vox fx and whistle and lyric video.
Josie
Torrey,
Superb. A complete package, loved the harmonica, guitars and overall melody.
Just a wonderful professional work.

Torrey,
Ace composition vocal performance and playing! Many cool harmony twists fun robo and FX too. I think J. Lynne would approve.
Cool tune! Thank you for sharing.

Hi Torrey Bliss,
I still admire your harmonica playing. Nice very rhythmic composition and I discovered your very pleasant voice with its timbre. It is rhythmic and pleasant.

WOW this is outstanding. Great blues harp leads with a touch of both the Turtles and Beatles over a Dylan style lyrics. Your vocal is one of if not your best.
Two thumbs up.
Torrey,
Dang, your songs sound so great out of the box . . . just crisp, clear, nuanced and rich. The vocal is outstanding, the write stellar. Love the production touches on the bridge and the harmonica is very cool. Really commercial ready pop-ish tune. Excellent!
All my best,
Deej

Hi Torrey,
Gosh! You've pulled out all stops with this one. As I said on Soundcloud, the energy in your presentation is brilliant.
I really like the metaphor 'Loves New Frontier.' It's open to so many possibilities.
You've really done a fantastic job with this song.
I loved it.
All the best,
Noel
Love the sound! To me it has that '70s vibe that I grew up on as a kid.
One suggestion lyrically - You start off with you as the subject ("No stress no hurry is how I play") and then switch to a couple ("When some go low we will go high"). Then I am not sure if you are addressing people generally or the person brought in from the third line as quoted above ("Look for the best in those you know"). My suggestion, therefore, is to maintain one POV.
NOTE: I am not good with understanding abstract lyrics so if this is in that genre then I am WAY off base and disregard my suggestion.
Fantastic production. Great message, which I too haven't achieved yet. Great change up during the bridge. The harmonica was bright and cheerful and really contributed to the song. The band had the spirit too. Good work.
Thanks Mario! Your comments mean a lot to me! T
Thanks Deej for taking time to listen and comment! I really appreciate it! T
Hi Torrey,
Wonderful song with a lot of energy, especially from your outstanding vocals
At some times I was afraid the tune would be too high to reach, but you did!
Very nice melody, but a real Bliss song!! No doubt about.
But somehow I missed it. Till now.
Very good song, Torrey and very good band too!
Hans
The harmonica is amazing.
I loved this song. So many different sounds happening.
Great vocals and a great story too!
Wow Torrey, don't know what else to say that hasn't been said. Great British vibe here. Excellent all around!
Mike B.
Thanks Noel! I always appreciate your comments! T
Thanks Dewey_MI! I debated going a different direction with the first two lines in the song but wanted to give the listener what my mindset was before proceeding to express the rest of the lyrical content. T
Thanks jptjptjpt for all the kind words! T
Thanks Hans for taking the time to listen and comment! T
Thanks Marty for all of that! I appreciate it! T
Thanks Mike for listening and commenting! I appreciate it! T
Great song and production! Loved the 'harmonica.' (The harmonica on Tina Turner's What's Love Got to do with it was done on a DX-7) Pro work as always!
Thanks TuneMonger for giving this a listen and commenting! I appreciate it! T

Torrey,
Extraordinary.
Everything about this is Top-Shelf. And Everything is so MUSICAL. The song SINGS.
Astounding production. The harmonica is truly impressive (on the keyboard??!!!)
A stunning Mix!!
Awesome vocals. Your Best Ever (and that is saying a LOT).
Every listen (I'm on my 4th) find new stuff catching the ear.
SO, SO, SO GOOD!!
A big WOW on this one!!
fj
Thanks Floyd for taking the time to listen and comment! It means a lot to me! I had to take a few runs at that keyboard part working with the pitch wheel to make it sound somewhat authentic. T
Love this song!
The chorus wraps itself around you and won't let go--rich harmonies, clever arrangement, engaging melody, and terrific lead vocal.
I too, cannot believe that is not a real harmonica.
Thanks Scott! I really appreciate the kind words! T
