Please Remember Me - Wag Rock & Roll Guitars

Hi all. Been away a while

I wrote this in the last couple of days.
I seem to remember reading somewhere, not to start a line
with "And" Not to worry it's done now.
As always all comments welcome

Please Remember Me

Please Remember Me

120 bpm key (D)

Oh please remember me.
And I, I'll remember you.

When you said you're going away I nearly died
And when I held your hand you started crying

Chorus
And when you said goodbye you brought the darkness to my life.
Some day you'll come back to me.

Bridge

Chorus
And when you said goodbye you brought the darkness to my life.
Some day you'll come back to me.

Don't you know she leaving town?
Then I'll be the most lonely around

You that she will remember me
And I, I'll remember her.

Chorus
And when you said goodbye you brought the darkness to my life.
Some day you'll come back to me.

Oh please remember me.
I Beg you please remember me.
please return to me.

This RealStyle features 2 electric guitars, piano, bass, and drums. The first plays long held chords with the aid of a tremolo effect. Panned across,
the second guitar plays chords in a rhythmic rock 'n' roll "sweep" style throughout.
The piano plays an arpeggiated walking bass line in the left hand and plays short chords on the off beats in the right hand.
The bass a swinging shuffle groove throughout. Often a half note is played at the beginning of the bar and followed by a fill into the next chord.
The drums play a steady shuffle groove throughout. During the B sections ride cymbal is added to amp up the energy.
This song is in the key of C major and features major and minor chords.
Chord changes happen every 2 to 8 beats.

This sounds like a more mature Buddy Holly...with a touch of Joe Meek reverb echo.
Nice one.
I enjoyed everything about it...cool package.
Hi Rob,

This is a terrific Country Pop song and I agree with Ray - it could have been a hit for Buddy Holly.

Vocals & BV's - Excellent.

Instrumentation - Perfect.

Mix - Spot On

I think this song has good commercial potential.

Best Regards
Nigel
Hello Rob,

When your song started playing I was dropped back to the 50's / early 60's. Very nice!
Ray talked about a mature Buddy Holly, but you can fill in Elvis as well (a mature one, of course).
And that means your vocals are very good for this kind of music. Wonderfull!
Your band was also very nice and the melody is very good. Just as I remember from the early days.
I believe my father liked it much.
You have more of this kind?

Cheers,
Hans
Love this song Rob. What a cool vocal. Guitars vocal drum groove to me back to the late 50's
Rules are meant to be broken... Very interesting combination of dark lyrics and fast tempo good old rock'n'roll song, would fit nicely in a David Lynch movie. Enjoyed the strong vocals and the nicely effected harmonies. Very good arrangement.

This sound great Rob. Great song and an awesome production!
Nice song and well performed vocally.

I can see this in a period movie as part of a music sequence.

I enjoyed this!
Flashback to the late 50's early 60's. This could have been sung by a number of artists from that era, Buddy Holly, Rick Nelson, Elvis, etc.

Great song. You captured that era perfectly.

Outstanding work.
Rob,
Just a couple of days ago I was listening to pop hits of 50s (one of my favorite pop music periods). If you lo-fied this up a bit and inserted this tune in my playlist, I would not of blinked. Really good write and performance! Enjoyed it. Thank you for sharing.

Misha.
Hey there Rob,
This style really compliments that beautiful voice of yours.
What a cool sounding track love all the fx.
Much enjoyed.

Josie
Rob,

Love your stuff—this one’s a real throwback. Dial the years back 40 or 50 years and this is a number one single. Got an Elvis feel to it—your vocal in particular—but a darker edge as well. . . and yet still a toe tapper. Great back up vocals on this. Really cool cut!

All my best to you,

Deej
Great song and vocal, per your norm. Excellent work all the way around.

Hello Hans. I love the 50's and 60's music genre.
Thanks for your comment. Rob4580
Less than three minutes and Elvis exits the stage...but man was it ever a performance!

Janice said she's ready for a sock hop.

Rob, we love all your productions and this is no exception with the great vocal performance and band choice along with the perfect write for the feel ... and an excellent mix.

Yes, the lyric is love lost but Janice also says it gives her happy feet!

Kudos all around.

J&B

Many thanks Scott.

Hi Rob4580,

Very pleasant composition with an excellent arrangement. The chorus and your voice well done and well placed. You put compression in this song but soundcloud did not damage the rendering of your song (-12Mb).Well done. I apprecied.

Love it, Rob. You do this kind of thing so well.

Yeah, Buddy Holly. I remember he sent his vocal through his bathroom for some reverb. This sounds great, Rob. A wonderfully catchy melody sung perfectly with just the right background harmonies.
