Hi All,

Here's something called FLYOVER.

I'm crossing the highway
Are you looking up
Ceremonial flight
Getting ready for the jump
Can't see a place to land
Or lock into your eyes
Got to keep on going
And make the next sunrise

Just a flyover baby
I'm riding on the air
I'm living in the moment
Flying through the atmosphere
Five hundred miles an hour
Circling the view
Need a drop-zone baby
Coming down to you

It's the middle of the night
In an April cold snap
High above the trees
Like a bird without a map
But I'm heavy on the trail
Can't tell you where I've been
But I'm sorry like the rain
And it's coming down again

Just a flyover baby
I'm riding on the air
I'm living in the moment
Flying through the atmosphere
Five hundred miles an hour
Circling the view
Need a drop-zone baby
Coming down to you

The cities and the mountains
A location in the hills
I'm racing with the hawks
Their voices loud and shrill
Like a shadow on the moon
Your a vision beyond reach
Tower come in tower
Ten thousand more feet

Just a flyover baby
I'm riding on the air
I'm living in the moment
Flying through the atmosphere
Five hundred miles an hour
Circling the view
Need a drop-zone baby
Coming down to you

Bob,

That's a cool sound you carved out there! It's a little different than your normal sounding type of track but it sounds great! It's still got great lyrical content which is what I always expect from you! I love it when forum members experiment and stretch the boundaries of their normal work! This one works well! Thanks, Torrey

That's a good package.
The electric guitar breaks might be a bit loud
1.54 there's a "crack" at the beginning of the syllable - probably a combo of compressor and reverb accentuating the vocal.
The ending was a bit abrupt but that's a small thing.

Very different backtrack Bob ( in a good way). Love the loop. Super vocal and lyric. Excellent mix as well. Well done

Bob, this is a cool song. Your vocal is strong and your instrumentation is really good.

I enjoyed my listen very much.

Hi Bob,

Very different! Nice to see you try something outside of your comfort zone, push the sides of the envelope a little smile

Well done, I enjoyed the listen.

Well done, Bob. Start with really good lyrics and the song writes itself --at least when one is as creative as you are. The perfect band for this, too. Really enjoyable.

I'm imagining Bruce Springsteen performing this with a big stage production.

Nice write, I like it!

Bob,

A good write.
A good vocal.
A good BAND.
A good sound.
A good mix.

...as usual.

"Just a flyover baby

That. Imagery.

Man, when you can write like that you don't need a video.
The listeners can easily create one in their imagination.

Sounds liked you recruited a new band for this production.
As occasional experimenters ourselves we know the fun of that!
At times it's both disconcerting and liberating for us. smile

And as per ALL your productions fine vocals and mix.

Torrey,

Thanks - much appreciated. I experimented a bit with this sound, but am still on the fence with the result... LOL!

interesting lyrics.
i like the sorta whispery vocs.
and the parts where the vocs are reinforced. etc
i hear some vocal high screaming in this song maybe the coda //outtro ? ie emotion..
would suggest more variety in the beat perhaps ?

Cool song. My strongest comment would be just how well you are popping those syllables into that jagged beat. Vocals as part of the rhythm section, really lifted this into the atmosphere.

Great lyric. Didn't know whether to laugh, get mad, or blush. Cool.

Hi Robert,

I enjoyed your song! The doubling of the vocals worked out very well. It made this song smooth, subtle and very pleasant listening to.
The synths' sounded nice during the whole song. Like a kind of constand flow with your vocals surfing on that. very nice. And lovely lyrics, but I must say; as usual!

My only suggestion: 10 seconds after the start of the song the Beatbox (I presume) came in . That was a little bit too loud. i had to lower the volume at that moment. Maybe you can adjust this a bit?

As I started this post, i enjoyed it a lot!

Nice song. One of my favorites from you.

Different type of instrumentation, but sounds good and still retains the "Bob" character of the song.

A little different for you, but still doing your thing. Bass seemed a little high to me. Great signature sound as always.

I enjoyed your song.

I particularly enjoyed the guitar solo and would like to hear more.

Good in all aspects, as you reliably are.

Engaging lyrics, good write.
