Hi All,
Here’s a song that has gone through several writing & arrangement iterations over the years.
I finally got around to properly recording it - this is called
MOONSHOT.
Miles between us
On the coast or outer space
Flying tonight
Every route feels untrue
Kinda wish this tired old moonshot was you
Lines round my eyes
The years above the radar
Flying away
Will somehow have to do
Kinda wish this tired old moonshot was you
I kinda wish this tired old moonshot was true
I kinda wish this tired old moonshot was you
Catch an updraft
Watch the clouds fade away
Flying this way
Navigate without a crew
Kinda wish this tired old moonshot was you
I kinda wish this tired old moonshot was true
I kinda wish this tired old moonshot was you

Hi Bob,
Thanks for the listen - I enjoyed your song.
The vocal style is reminiscent of Bob Dylan.
Well done.
Best Regards
Nigel
Hello Bob,
Nice surprise this cool Moonshot! A tight song, nice melody and strong guitars involved.
A very pleasant listen!
Have a nice weekend,
Hans
Hi Bob.
This song is very topical at the moment.
Love the lyric "Kinda wish this tired old moonshot was you"
very catchy. I enjoyed this, you are great songwriter.
Thanks for posting. Rob4580

Bob,
I always enjoy hearing your songs. Always well-written, always sung with conviction and passion, always nicely produced.
You make BIAB sound like YOUR band. Here again. Good mix.
Good one!
(I also always like your album covers!)

Bob,
BIG sounding tune. Good choice of instruments. Acoustic/ electric guitar choice was a nice marriage. Good lyrics and performance.
Mix is clear, listens well. Thank you for sharing.
Misha.
Bob,
You are a master of doing these type of tunes! Nobody around here does these like you! Your lyrics are awesome and the construction of the backtrack is excellent! Thanks, Torrey
Man, I just love your voice! Great tone and always full of passion.
Great song, Bob, love the way it builds. Production is top notch, as good as it gets.
Listened a couple of times, enjoyed!
Oh, yeah, Bob. Every song you do is soo good in every way. Your vocal always tops the bill and the lyrics that you write for it gives it such a relaxed and polished feel. Great band and well produced and mixed.
Hans,
Thanks so much.
Bob
Rob,
That's very kind - thank you.

Hi Bob,
Once again you took me on a pleasant and magical musical ride. I love how your lyrics create images in my mind as the journey progress.
Another excellent edition to your ever-growing songbook!

Bob
Really nice. You chose an excellent backing band to show off your great vocal and words.
Pro sounding, and beautifully done.
Peter
Nice one, Bob. Like those power chords. Your usual excellent vocal and lyrics (although I must admit to puzzling a little over the line 'wish this tired old moonshot was you').
Regards,
Leon
Floyd,
Thanks very much.
Bob
Loved this tune Bob. I must comment on the mix. Very cool how the acoustic was a little drier that the vocal. Bot did this sound good on the monitors. Super vocal and backtrack. Well done
Very poetic, I like the deep melancholy in the theme of flying even to the outer space.
The acoustic and electric guitar play amazingly well together. Excellent emotional vocals.
Janne
Torrey,
I appreciate that - thanks.
Bob
Marty,
Thanks - much appreciated.

Bob,
Another signature tune from you—all the elements that make a Robert Dean song a Robert Dean song: crystal and magnetic production work—resonating guitars and drums—and that killer vocal that sits just so perfectly in the mix. Just a wonderful tune; wonderful work.
Best regards to you,
Deej
Shoot for the moon, even if you miss, you'll land among the stars!
Nice one.

Great set of lyrics. I particularly like these lines:
Lines round my eyes
The years above the radar
Flying away
Will somehow have to do
Excellent vocal delivery that reveals the emotion in the lyrics.
Noel,
Much appreciated - thank you.
Bob
Peter,
Much appreciated - thanks.

"Lines round my eyes
The years above the radar
Flying away
Will somehow have to do
Kinda wish this tired old moonshot was you"
Above the radar ... nice. As is the entire write.
As always you recruited an ace band and mixed them well.
Strong passionate vocals.
Janice said she was reading a poem the other day by Jane Mead and thought immediately of how much it reminded her of your lyrics.
Enjoyed it!
J&B
Leon,
Thank you - I appreciate that.
The use of "moonshot" is just a metaphor for something out of reach.
Bob
Desertphile,
Thank you.
Bob
Janne,
Much appreciated - thanks.
Bob
Deej,
Thanks - I appreciate that.
Bob
An interesting title and hook, Bob. Somehow your vocal seems a little lonely. Maybe try some harmony vocals around half way in to take it up a notch.
Vic
Scott,
Much appreciated - thanks.
Bob
Janice & Bud,
Thanks so much. I appreciate that.
That’s so cool - Jane Mead is one of my favorite poets.
Bob
Vic,
Thanks. Appreciate the feedback.
Bob
I almost missed this gem!

Your mix was spot on!
Love it!
Mario,
That's very kind - thank you.
