Hi All,
Here's something called
Coffee And Fireflies.
Baby was an outlaw
Quick on the gun
Baby loved the moonlight
Always one and done
Yeah black coffee black fireflies
Baby was a bellflower
Summer in the sun
Baby loved the seasons
Always on the run
Yeah black coffee black fireflies
Baby was a thinker
Two steps not one
Baby loved the music
A song to be sung
Yeah black coffee black fireflies
Baby was a sunrise
Autumn just begun
Baby loved the cool nights
A war couldn’t be won
Yeah black coffee black fireflies
Baby was my baby
Love ain’t no fun
Baby loved the night shades
A tale come undone
Yeah black coffee black fireflies
Oh yeah black coffee black fireflies

As always - thanks for listening!

Reading the title of the song I was thinking acoustic (From my coffee house days). I love your songs that you do with the acoustic guitar. You got me. This is a lovely song. Another super vocal and backtrack. Well done..
Bob,
Good write (as always!). LOVE the arrangement/production - keeps the ear listening intently all the way.
A gritty vocal. Excellent mix.
Top-shelf.
(and you always have great album covers!)

Always love the vibe you capture Bob!!! And, your imagery is always interesting!! Love the band, especially that higher guitar! NICE!!! Take care. Greg
More gruff than you usually sing, but still a winner. Another good one, no surprise.
I was intrigued so looked up black fireflies - they only use their light when emerging from the the cocoon and, there after, are dark.
Interesting.
That little fact makes the song even more mystical.
Nice melody and a fab arrangement.
Outstanding as usual, Bob!
Great vocal, mix, and arrangement.
Read Ray's comment above about black fireflies, interesting, I had never heard of them before either.
Scott,
That's very kind - thank you.
Bob
A cool warm feeling, Bob, like a pink sunrise followed by a gorgeously red sunset. I like the get-out-of-the-way instrumentation that allows the vocal to shine like a black firefly emerging from its cocoon. [I didn't know that either, Ray.]
Fabulous imaginative write, Bob.
Speaking for myself though I would have preferred a subdued drum pattern throughout.
Vic
Hi Bob,
Nice song and we really like this America Slow style.
You used it very well.
Rob and Anne-Marie
WOW is all I can say Bob. Your vocal is perfect as is your instrumentation and mix.
Loved it.
Really nice selection of RealTracks, and you did a great job with the lyrics. There is a nice amount of character to the song that I really appreciate. Thanks for sharing!
Floyd,
Thanks so much. Appreciate the mention of the album artwork as well.
Bob
TuneMonger,
Thanks very much.
Bob
Interesting intro. Immediately caught my attention. I haven't been on the User Showcase for a while and with such top productions as you've done here, I'll be spending a lot more time catching up.
Great write, performance and really enjoyed the production and arrangement. Top notch song that fit your vocal well.
Charlie
Ray,
Much appreciated - thanks.
Bob
Outstanding. The sparse arrangement works really well and the movement added by the drums is special.
As are the acoustic bass lines.
Your vocal is very engaging (nothing unusual there!) -- reminds us of Lucinda.
As Janice says your songs just make us feel at home. It fits so well with our love of Americana.
Your lyric is outstanding and as lovers of flora and fauna we were fascinated to learn about the firefly.
The edge of ambiguity works nicely.
Another fine addition to a fine catalog.
J&B
Dave,
Thanks very much.
Bob
Marty,
Thanks - much appreciated.

Hi Bob,
I saw I missed your song, but today I listened.
In the beginning of your song I thought it was a long intro to get loose.
But it was the drum that came in and you sing the song.
The repetition of the melody was a strong point in your song. It still is in my head!
That isn't the case if you don't like a song. So yours I like.
I could smell the coffee and saw the fireflies, only not the black ones.
In my country we are addicted to coffe. I always start my day with it, but now you introduced those black flies...
Well done, Bob!
Hans
Vic,
Thanks for the kind words.
Bob
That's a cool sound you created for the backtrack Bob! It really supports the vocal in excellent fashion! Great song! Thanks, Torrey
Rob and Anne-Marie,

Bob,
Excellent work . . . you have such a distinct style and execute on that consistently with every tune you put out. Terrific production, great vocal. All good to my ears. Outstanding!
All my best to you,
