"God's Last Call"

Verse 1
It's been a journey
And it all started out in my brokenness
I'm just a sinner
With a whole lifetime of sins I needed to confess
A foolish wanderer
Who thought he was always right
An unbeliever who became like a blind man
Who God gave back his sight

Breakdown
Who'd finally seen the light
Who'd finally seen the light

Chorus
Maybe this was God's last call
So many chances, I've wasted them all
This one last time to get it right
Come out of the darkness and back into the light

Verse 2
I'm far from perfect
But I know there's a work that's just begun in me
I'm not quite there yet
Halleluyah Jesus, I ain't where-I used to be
Fellow black sheep gone astray
Prodigal children just like me
All the lost looking for The Way
I pray you eyes are opened that you see

Breakdown
I pray you see the light
I pray you see the light

Chorus
What if this is God's last call?
So many chances, you wasted them all
One last time to get it right
Come out of the darkness and back into the light

I pray you see the light
Oh how I pray

Solo

I pray you see the light
Pray you see the light

Outro
None of us are given tomorrow
If you were to die tonight
Do you know where your soul would go?
Are you headed to an everlasting life?
Or an everlasting damnation?
Brothers and sisters, look at the times
What if this was God's last call?

Hey Bawb..."there's a time for every purpose under heaven" a wise man once said...one of those times is a time to take stock...this is definitely a take stock song...I love the raw emotional feel of it (quite appropriate for the message)...it reminds me of the tunes we used to do at the coffee houses in the 70's...great intro...it sounds like an on stage performance and fits your voice so well...love the banjo and harmonica...probably my favorite mix of all your songs...thanks for sharing this...Dan

Bawb,

A well written song...(all of your songs are). And you have a real knack for thinking up interesting angles to serve up your message (there is a lot of Christian music that just serves up the same overly used scenarios and catch-phrases).

Always an impassioned vocal.

Bawb:

Great opening to this—gotta like that harmonica working, and nicely mixed—sweet! Another stellar Christian Rock tune from you . . . and, man, I just love that gravelly, soulful vocal of yours—so engaging. Terrific write as well. Among my favorites from you. Cool stuff!

Best regards,

Deej

Excellent choices for the band. Love the emotion in your vocal. I totally agree with Floyd about how you write with such creative ways to express the message. A really wonderful song, Bawb.

Well done. Good lyrics. Heck of a vocal performance as usual.

You put together a fine bunch of studio guys for that session and mixed them well.
