Well Happy 2022 Everybody. It has been a good year so far. I received a lot of good feedback recently from a large music organization I belong to after sending in 12 tunes, and they said I was “definitely writing, producing and arranging commercial pop.”

In that light, I will not worry anymore about whether Real Band works, I will just keep using it, and see what else happens.

The old piano playing is coming right along and I think I am making some progress, but it was so swell of Oliver Gannon to play along with me again on this new tune. It’s maybe just syrupy and romantic and full of pop jazz, but hey, it’s who I am.

Thanks Dani! That "thing" already happened and we recently celebrated an anniversary, and this is a nod to that.



There is a much longer version of the theme, and maybe I can squeeze a few more songs out of it.

"syrupy and romantic" is a good place to be, David. Yes, your piano playing is really adding a nice touch. Those strings sound perfect, and they mix well with the cello. Great celebration of the thing. Love those lyrics.

it's very honest and very fragile and almost moving towards Tom Waits - it's really impressive.
Was intrigued and my mind was busy processing the song while it went along, and once it was over, I wanted to listen to it again.

Simple and to the point. It took a minute to figure out it was a waltz.
