I like the sound - it's different without sounding derivative. Neat harmonies, but the vocal is a bit dryer than I like.

The mix has some cool stereo effects that make this fun to listen to!

Plus, despite your railing, it comes off as a bit more upbeat than your description would imply.

To me the guitar very much as "Blackbird" acoustic guitar sound to it. Good sounding mix. One thing I would change is I would try to make the introduction, before all the instruments come in, and the rest of the song match in volume level. I had to adjust the volume level when everything came in.

Love the message in the lyrics.

There's a mixture of Cat Stevens, Paul Simon and Bob Dylan in there somewhere.
