Hot Cars and Guitars
(re-mix) lowered Bass volume a bit...

Full moon on a Friday night, Man it’s a crazy scene
Top down and my steady girl, in this mean machine
Rockabilly on the radio, cruzin’ down around the Dairy Queen

Jam session at the dance hall, we’re gonna’ rock all night
Hep-cats on the dance floor, the band is swingin’ tight
Hotrods in the parking lot, drag racin’ in the moonlight

~ Chorus ~
Hot cars and guitars, you know that’s my passion
Telecaster and a Hotrod Ford, always in fashon
Hot Cars and Guitars, give me satisfaction

Hot cars and Guitars, fine-tuned machines
Listen to them whisper, listen to them scream
Drivin’ fast or cruzin’ slow, rev ‘em up and go cat go

~ Solos ~

Meet ya later at the Drive-thru, for cold Brews & Bar-B-Que
Break out the old Geetars, boogie down beneath the stars.
All the Chicks are feelin’ real good, the Cats are all rockin’ in the neighborhood

~ Chorus ~ Solo ~ Out ~

So cool! Could stop my foot from tapping! Would have been a perfect tune in Pulp Fiction! wink
Great job, I loved it!

I am not worthy.
Howdy Bloc-head....

Cool track.
Good vox....mix works fine.
It has a great 60's blues vibe.
Like a cross between Charlie Musslewhite and Stray Cats.

Bur....that's just me. smile

Well done!

Carry on....

Awesome job, Bloc-head. I loved the guitar solos!
It takes a brave man to use the word “hep” in a lyric in this day and age

Hi,

Very cool beat and well played on all those instruments.

Not sure about the vocals so far back in the mix.

Excellent song well done.

Best Regards
Nigel

Thanks Nigel... yeah, all that slap-back on the the vocals... I was going for that Gene Vincent (Be Bop A Lula) vibe.

Cooool!
The harmonica does it here.
Very good guitar!
Well sung.

So good, bloc-head. Man, love that bass. What a fun feel, the kind of tune I always perk up for when the band leader calls for it. The guitar solo soars perfectly, and I always sit up for a good harmonica.

Hi Bloc-head,

At first I thought the song was a bit too slow, but suddenly the chorus came and from then on it was a big pleasure to listen to it. And the second time I played it, the pleasure started at the beginning. A very nice song!
Like Dave wrote, I liked everything about it!
And you know your vocals had something in common with Marty (Babumusic). The same pleasure sounds while you sing. You can do a duet, of course in the style of this lovely song.

Needless to say I enjoyed it a lot,
Hans

Excellent guitar solos and well sung.

Enjoyed it.

Hi bloc-head
Cool sound
Sounds really good over headphones
Brilliant guitar solos. Fits perfectly
Somehow I find the artwork very successful. Probably because of the great red of the oldtimer (I don't even know what model this is....)
Many greetings
Andi ;-)
Now that's a fun song to listen to! At first I was wondering if it would be better at a faster tempo, but as I continued listening I think you really nailed it just where it should be. I really liked that bass working through the whole song and the reverb throughout really gave it a great feel. Clever, cold ending.

bloc-head,

Smokin'!!

Impressive work on that list of instruments.
Cool Bass. I like the "subtle" drum track.
Killer guitar!
Loved that ending. Nice use of stops.

Excellent vocals and harmonies. (I thought they were perfectly placed in the mix.)

Nice job of getting the BIAB harp in there. Like it was made-to-order.

Music worth listen to. Many times. Chair Dancing.

What they said! Fun song, strong instrumentals - hot guitars and harmonicas!

The vocal effects does a good job calling back to older songs. The harmony sounds great as well.

Fun listen! laugh

Bass n vocals could swap levels...a keyboard bass that far up front doesn't really fit in my head.
the rest of the track is great fun...well done with the solo too.

Great, authentic recording. I'm impressed that you played all those instruments. The harmonica player is good too. Well written song. It sounds like it was recorded live in a big dance hall. Good cut.
Hello bloc-head,

It's a great beat.
It reproduces the rockabilly of the 50's very well.
Wonderful bass, guitar and organ performances.
The vocals are also very cool.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best regards.

Hi Andi... not sure 'bout the Hot-Rod, but the guitar pictured is a '50s Gretsch-6120.
Thanks for your ears and friendly words.

I finally got around to listening to this again, and I agree... the Bass was a bit too loud.
Re-mixed & Trimmed some of the Bass Track's gain.
Thanks for the good ears Ray...

Sounds LIVE !!! you got a great groove ... Like the lyrics, groove, vocals -- sounds like it recorded in a Smokey old bar in Memphis on a Saturday night. Who's playing the harp???

Thank you Elliott, the harp player is one of the great BiaB Magicians... I can play pretty good Cross-Harp myself, but it was much more convenient to use this RT, plus he's a really good player, and has that great tone...
Thanks again for listening.

WOW that caused a flashback to my leather jack, smokes rolled up in my t-shirt, DA haircut, driving my red convertible and playing Johnny B. Goode at every gig days!

Great 50's rock-a-billy, perfect in every way

Everything is top shelf

This is your best to date IMHO

Loved it

Thank you Marco... Your comments made my efforts all worth while... I was just stirring up some of my ol' memories of growing up in the 1950s & '60s.
I'm so happy you got it...

Thank you so much Noel, for your friendly, encouraging words... I'm so glad you enjoyed my little tune...

This sounds really great. I loved the parts you played.

Were you playing a Gretsch???

Yes, I played my orange Gretsch 6120JR2 (not the 6120 pictured) on this tune. She's got that twang...
Glad you liked my song... Thanks for listening

Cool blues with a rockabilly edge

Your vocal reminds us of one of our fav Americana artists, Kevin Gordon.

Fine vocal and instrumental performances and nicely mixed.

The harp RT sits in nicely. Good choice!
