Dewey,
nice one...amusing and entertaining.
Did you put a high pass on your vocal? I ask becasue it sounds pretty good but a little thin.

Cool knee-slappin' hand-jiving country gem, Dewey. You show how those of us stuck on a farm wouldn't have it any other way. Great band and production. Excellent vocal with a happy feeling. The whole song makes me happy for you.

Those are very kind words Marty! We actually have a small hobby farm in Michigan. Do you live rural as well?

How can I remedy the "thin" vocals? Would this be within my compression settings in my DAW?

Yep. A lifer. Not a farm now, but we're out there.

Dewey,

This track sounds really good! It is a great example of good song writing! It would take me many days to put that kind of thought into lyrics and put them into a presentable form! Everything sounds great!

Thanks, T

You are very kind for saying so, Torrey. I appreciate you taking the time to listen and reply. Na zdrowie!

Good one Dewey.

Good mix too.

I like the way your voice is slightly rough around the edges (slightly raspy I mean) in places. It fits the song very well.

This is a happy country song and, having family members who’ve lived on farms, we can relate to the joy and the work involved. smile

We especially like this:

“Stuck on this farm like I’m stuck on you, like everything about this 80
acres with a view”

Janice said she thought of Jimmy Ibbotson from the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band - a good thing.

Good vocals, band and mix!

Enjoyed it,

J&B

PS: Bud remembers the FFA crowd from high school and he further remembers when he ended up bailing hay for a summer smile

LOL! David, it's a crap shoot with my voice. I am no vocalist and so I get what I get depending on the day. Thanks for listening!

Thanks for the feedback J & B!

Yes, Jimmy Ibbotson was amazing and so was the NGDB. I met him in Nashville back in the early '90's...okay, well I spoke and he kept walking but smiled! That's kinda meeting him, right? LOL
