Hi All,

Here's something short, simple & folky. This is called Zero Of Sound.

I'm driving south from Santa Rosa
In a mustang convertible
She's on the red-eye bound for Brooklyn
I can hear those engines whirl
The sky is made of diamonds
As I make my way to town
And the highway curves before me
Like the zero of sound

She was with me at the Fairmont
By the San Francisco Bay
Now she's clear across the country
A million miles away
As I cross the Golden Gate
The sun has long gone down
And the waves move beneath me
Like the zero of sound

Walking down California
I hear the trolleys and the horns
As the sun begins to fade
I smell the rain of a summer storm
Her eyes are wide and open
Her skin is soft and brown
She's like an orchid in a downpour
Like the zero of sound

In the quiet of the hotel room
Her presence lingers on
I feel the message of her spirit
And my weariness is gone
I know that I can't reach her
Until the morning comes around
And the darkness folds around me
Like the zero of sound
Yeah, the darkness folds around me
Like the zero of sound

Love that minimalist track that lets your vocal shine through as it should, Bob. Good write and a fun sing-along. So catchy. When I read the title I thought, "What the heck is the zero of sound?" Your lyrics gives me an answer I wasn't totally expecting. Well done!

Bob,
Intimate and warm, with that rough edge your voice has making it more real.
Love the lyrics and the restraint of your arrangement:this is pure, poetic and powerful!

Nice title. Very poetic and vivid lyrics, I can almost feel her presence and hear the horns and the zero of sound. "She's like an orchid in a downpour" - excellent line. Great vocals as always.

“I feel the message of her spirit
And my weariness is gone”

We love this. The entire lyric is lovely but those two lines speak volumes. It is remarkable how well you told the story in but two minutes.

We also enjoyed that fine acoustic bass and fingerpicked guitar highlighting your cool vocal.

Enjoyed it,

I listened a couple of days ago but had to follow my nose. the title had me wondering and I wanted to follow that up before commenting.
Unfortunately we have some internet problems so that has been spasmodic at best.
Finally I have a vague understanding of the "unique quantum vibrations in quantum Fermi liquids" which is cool but not really a light shone on the lyric.
Still, the journey was good as is the song and the performance.

Put together really well. As most have mentioned, the minimal instrumentation work together with your vocals very nicely. Is as if we're all sitting around in the living room swapping stories and melodies. Enjoyed it.

Hi Bob,

You did a great job with this one.
Nice how your lyrics describe the situation on the out- and inside. I like that!

The modest way you sing the story is always very pleasant to listen to.
I enjoyed your song a lot,

Hans
