Where Horses run

I started with the music.
When it was done, I thought it had to be about something moving, a rhythm.
That's where the horses came in and the lyrics were there.
I asked Rob to sing the lead, because he's got a more expressive voice than I have. I confined myself to the backing vocals.
Rob took care of the final mix.
I made the video, Rob chose the filter.
As we posted this song on YouTube a few months ago, it is pure coincidence that there are two songs about horses on the forum now (rsdean - Falling horses) smile

This song is so beautiful that I listened to it over and over. Best thing I've heard from you two. Congratulations on a terrific tune. I wasn't so sure about the violin at 1:48, was that the Arabian loop? It seemed to have an unusual timbre to my ears. A very minor point, it didn't detract from my enjoyment of this wonderful piece.

Beautiful song Rob and Anne-Marie, also really enjoyed the video.

Rob and Anne-Marie,

This song sounds super! Your vocals are as good as it gets! Love the arrangement with the waltz time signature...it's a perfect choice for this one! The instrumentation, especially the fiddle, are the right choices. Nothing distracts, it all fits! Great work!

Thanks, Torrey

Rob & Anne-Marie,
A lovely song concept with a sweet melody and marvelous vocals ( and harmonies).
I liked everything about the arrangement except the solo violin...perhaps it adds a little gypsy wildness, though, so will have another listen.
Beautiful images on the video.

Simply wonderful! The music, the video, and of course your great singing.
Great!
My only minor complaint is the violin solo, it doesn't feel like it's part of the band. But that's just a minor nit in a great arrangement.

Just an addition to my post:
The instrument that accompanies the entrance of the white horse, is the Loop Arabian Ceremony.
I wanted to "give" that horse an instrument of its own, to indicate that this is a special horse, the guide that is told about earlier, that will take you to a place that "looks\feels like" Eden.
It had to be clear, even if you didn't see the video, that something extraordinary is happening.

The be honest any vehicle that is used to carry your blended vocals will sound good.
This is a really good arrangement and melody with a good narrative and THOSE VOICES.
Je maakt een prachtig geluid.

I THINK there's a mic or something else that clicks off at the end...

This is a really beautiful creation you two! Lovely song and everything sounds fantastic. Yes, great vocals indeed, both lead and backing.

A fine, fine mix.

Rob and Anne-Marie...that was gorgeous! the song itself was so picturesque but adding the video made it come alive in another dimension...Rob, you have such a great voice and the harmonies, Ann-Marie, were so beautiful...the track was perfect for the lyric...you always produce such quality music...horses are such noble and majestic creatures! thanks for posting this...Dan

I enjoyed this much.

You two produced a wonderful waltz masterpiece.

Your harmonies are great, as was the lead vocal

The mix was spot on

The video really complimented the audio

One of if not your best to date

Brilliantly sung. Quite lovely.

A folksy gentle majestic feel.

Superb production. All the instrumentation works for me.

This has a lovely soft sound.
My only crit is the slight rush of lyric in "where horses run" which for me breaks up the smooth dreamlike flow of the song. My suggestion is to sing "where hor...ses run".
Other than that, wonderful.

Great galloping in three-quarter time. Love this song. Harmony is sooooo good. Your mix is perfect and the whole song is thoroughly enjoyable. I hear what Vic is talking about, but another way to look at it is that is the hook, and I like the way it trots right out there and sticks in the memory. One of the reasons why TuneMonger and I have played this song so much.

Enjoyed my listen.

What a beautiful lyric and video to go with your beautiful vocals! And the harmony build was just lovely.

Janice was saying, “take us there too!” The waltz time was such a good combination with the galloping horses and the band sounds perfect to us.

We loved the Arabian fiddle loop that accompanied the handsome white horse guide.

We’re ready to go to that magical place!

Love the lyrics Anne-Marie. Excellent vocal. Loved how Rob delivered the vocal. Reminded me of a minstrel singer from early English folk tunes. Great story telling Awesome video.

Hi TM,

Thanks for your nice reply.
May be you've read what I said about the violin in my later reply, but if not, here's the explanation:

"The instrument that accompanies the entrance of the white horse, is the Loop Arabian Ceremony.

Hoi Anne-Marie en Rob,

A very wonderful song you made. I felt goosebumps on my arms and a shiver going down my spine from the emotion in the song (don't know if this is proper English, but who cares).
What a nice melody. Excellent is the word in Charlies' post, but also what came in my head.
Both your vocals sound very, very nice in this -slightly Irish-sounding song.
Really nice!

And I love that video with all the horses.

Still with a smile on my face because of this song,
Hans

Beautiful lyrics and together with the nice video really shows the space to be free without fences.
Nice folky instrumentation, sort of medieval mood from the British Isles. I like the violin, it sounds like horses neighing.
Excellent vocals, always pleasure to hear your voices.

Rob and Anne-Marie,

Beautiful Folk Waltz!
I was impressed with that the vocals of both of you are really well harmonized.
The video also matches the music very well.
It's a very sophisticated piece.
Enjoyed my listen and watch a lot.

Best regards.
