Lyrics:
I've lost my way, no place to play in Loveland
The games afoot but I've been hobbled here
I must admit, no fun is it in Loveland
When you're alone and there's nobody near
I'd love to take off running, chasing somebody to woo,
But you're not here, will you appear? Alakazam! It's you!
It's magic and fun, with more than one, in Loveland,
But when you're alone, what a sad affair

T.M...This is a step into the "way back machine"...this is such a great sounding piece of music...so well written and though Sam did a stellar job on the vocals I would love to hear Tony Bennet do this one!...great, great melody and so '40's sounding...this is the best I've heard BiaB horn section sound! I love the title and hook...this belongs on vinyl for sure!!
Add some record crackle and this could be from the forties or fifties.
Beautiful song!
Hi TuneMonger,
I love this song - right up my alley.
Great melody and lyrics.
Excellent vocals. I note he sounds a little tentative in the first verse (I know the feeling) but really gets into it from the first chorus to the end.
Superb backing.
I've listened three times and it gets better with each listen.
Made my day.
Best Regards
Nigel
This could be played in Sam's bar in Casablanca. Lovely song beautifully performed. Here's lookin at you...
Sounds great to me, cool old school vibe with both the music and the lyric.
Horns sounded good to me, and your vocalist did a fine job.
Listened yesterday and also a couple of times this morning, really well-done in all aspects IMHO.
Love this, Bob!! Man, the chord changes and melody and the way you arranged the orchestra is perfect. Good choice of vocalist. The mix is Goldilocks good, and the horns work just fine.
Well, as evidenced by Peter and Janice’s last song, she loves this big band style song.
Your vocalist is a fine crooner and the band, including the horns, sounds great.
We can see the protagonist sitting alone at a corner table watching the other couples dance.
In an old B&W film of course.
And a nice write.
Kudos!

not my genre , but certainly i think its a lovely and well done song imho.
it reminds of a sultry 3 am bar in soho london.
(makes me remember some crazy nites of my youth...lol.)
if i can make a suggestion ..in my mind i heard a female vocal alernating verses with your male vocal verses..
imho that would send the song flying.
well done mate.
happiness.

Oh yeah!!! Great composition. I love the big band sound. You picked a good vocalist and got your money's worth. I picture people at the dance hall in a black and white film. Again, great song! Loved it.
Really nice song. You made a good choice of vocalist. Fits the song well.

This song takes us back in time.
Very good music and vocals.
The sax is nice!
Enjoyed!

Nice one...managing horn sections in BIAB is hard yakka but you've done a good job.
The band works well.
The vocalist let a few sibilant bits through but it isn't bad.
Nice one.
Flashback to old big band jazz
Great vocal
Excellent work with those horns
Super mix
Great work
Tin Pan Alley lives. In the Showcase!
Nice write. A lovely melody.
Your vocalist does a great job.
Horns sound great.
Excellent mix.
A delightful step-back-in-time.
Really well done.

The lyrics are perfect for the genre; especially that "Alakazam"- shows you`ve done your homework and know those crooners well.
The singer gets into the mood and the band ( including those rarely heard horns) sound good to me.
Evocative and well crafted music.
Robert

Magic and fun, nice lyrics combined with the perfect title create nostalgic mood where sad and alakazam moments alternate.
The horns are more than perfect in my ears, great work! The rest of the band is a perfect fit for the smiling melody & chording.
I really enjoy listening to the excellent vocalist.
Janne
Clever musical stuff, Tunemonger.
Vic
Sounds great! The singer nailed the vocal. The mix is well balanced and the horns seem fine to me. Nicely done, Tom
Wow! Great job. Wonderful sound and such a great mix. Those horns were so well done, and I love the bass lines in it. You chose the perfect instruments and mixed them just right to pull this off. I thought your vocalist really nailed this one.
What they said - The Wayback Machine rules!
Fun write that nails the crooner sound, and excellent work by the vocalist.
There are some nice rhymes -
It's magic and fun/for more than one - that work perfectly matching era and moving the story forward.

TuneMonger,
Nice sound!
The modulation of the chorus makes me feel the big band era.
This crooner horn RealTracks is perfect for the song.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

TuneMonger:
You picked the perfect singer for this tune—just the right kind of crooner to make it shine in just the way it deserves to shine. Brilliantly! Outstanding write and production. Congrats!!
Wishing you all the best for the Holidays,
Deej
Love this kind of music!!! And you do such a beautiful job with it!!! Singer is good but could use a little pitch correction. Wonderful tune!!! Take care. Greg
