The Outlaw

-The Outlaw-
Key C Bpm 80 Duratrion 02:48

Verse 1:

He was an outlaw on the run
From the law and everyone

Chorus
He rode across the plains

On a horse with firey maine
So that journeys never done.

Verse 2:

Move about, like a rolling stone
Most of his life spent all alone

He was a wanderer, a gunslinger
With an itchy trigger finger

Winter winds chilled him to the bone

Bridge**********

Chorus
He rode across the plains

He battled fire and rain
So that journeys never done.

Verse :3

He left behind a trail of tears
For the ones that held him held dear

Had a bounty on his head
Left behind woah and dred

He never soften through the years

Chorus
He rode across the plains

On a horse with firey maine
So that journeys never done.

His nightmares still remained.
Would never be the same
So the battles never won.

Hi, Robert.

Nice backing tracks. Vocals and harmonies are genre perfect.

You described it as "tongue-in-cheek", which I assume refers to the long list of cliches. But given that's the myth of the Western lone gunslinger, it's perfect for this song.

Fun listen! smile
COOL and cool.
My only thought would have been to use a baritone tremolo and reverb heavy lick rather than the gritty one...more Spaghetti Western.
BUT
It works 100% as is...well done yet again.
Love it, Rob.
That backing is cool, understated and appropriate.

Vic
Hey Rob, I like this a lot.
Great lyrics, vocals and band.
Man, from this cool song I an see the whole movie, Rob. Very cool mix and your vocal nails it. It has an appropriate gallop to the feel. Definitely a movie I'd watch again and again. Fun song.
Oh yeah Rob, this one is cooool! Great tracks used for this sound. Where did you get that photo on the Soundcloud post? It looks a lot like one I've got of my Granddad. Great job on this.

Brad
Rob,

Yeah, I like this one a lot—cool, classic country vibe, but with an edge. Love the gritty vocal. Great production elements all through. Excellent!

All my best to you,

Deej

Hey Rob,

Very, Very Cool! I liked everything about this. When it comes to finding constructive criticism... I have none!

Great Job!

Greg
Thank you Vic.
Well done, Rob. You had me hooked from the opening. You've created a distinctive mood with the instrumentation and vocal.

This a whole heap of fun!

I could listen to more of these!!!

Great job!

What a gem, Rob. Rich vocals and a fine band.

We could see Jeff Bridges in the title role of the outlaw.

Cool!

Hi Marty. Never thought of it that way.
Thanks for your support.

Rob, this is an outstanding song.
I also can see this as a song for a western movie.
Outstanding vocal and lyrics.
Great backing band and mix.
I can see Richard Boone staring in a movie with this theme.
Remember him from Have Gun Will Travel?

This is one if not your best to date.

Like Marty, I'm see a movie while listening to your song. I guess Quentin Tarantino would find a nice place for it in one of his movies.
Laid back but still very interesting song, I enjoyed the listen.
Nice train country tune with interesting wild west lyrical story, classic western movie soundtrack song.
Very enjoyable instrumentation and mix, really luscious. Excellent sounding low register in the vocal.

Janne
Excellent tune Rob. Loved the scratchy acoustic in the intro. Super vocal and really cool groove to the song. Well done
