Something's Going OnHi Folks,
Here's a new song I wrote recently featuring the lovely guitar work of Joe Robinson and the harp of Pat Bergeson.
Music and Lyrics - Nigel Spiers
Vocals - Nigel Spiers
Bass - Dave Row - 3983
Drums - Fred Etringham - AmericanaSlowRockFred
Harmonica - Pat Bergeson - 3967
Guitar - Joe Robinson - 2928
Nice beat Nigel. Great backing track, and I always like your vocals. This has really got that "cool vibe" Enjoyed it!
Brad
Very very smooth. Love your vocal. Great mix, Thanks for posting Nigel
Smooth!
Pro all around, love it!
Nice relaxed vibe, Nigel. Good vocal, lovely harp solo and guitar work.
Regards,
Leon
Smooth like crunchy peanut butter - little nuggets of texture and taste to keep it interesting.
This is top shelf work Nigel. For me there's a taste of Motown/R&B goin on here and as stated above, it's smoooth.
Love the band and the guitar squeaks.
Nice one, Nigel.
Good vocals.
Nice use of RTs.
Good mix.
Good music.

Good song with a nice drive, I like it a lot.
Maybe you could post the lyrics, I don't understand all of it.
This song has a terrific slow burn. Loved it! There are very short volume dropouts at 0:34, 1:10 and elsewhere that seem intentional but I wasn't sure. Not a big deal. Great job!
Hi Brad,
Thanks for your comments.

Nigel
Nigel...Nice one...love the harp work and the entire track...feels like the band was put together to play this specific song...great vocals and cool grove throughout...really nice!
Hi TuneMonger,
Thanks for your comments.
Those dropouts are where only the guitar is playing.
However - you are right - a couple of those are a bit quiet so I have made them a bit more aggressive and louder.
Best Regards
Nigel

Sounds much better to my ear, Nigel!
What a great lineup of talent, including the singer, Nigel. Love this easy-feel, and bouncing melody. You're right, that guitar and harmonica work so well. Great pro mix and that feel is so catchy.
Hi Rob,
Glad you enjoyed it.

Brilliant. Such a smooth groove, so well realised. These things can seem deceptively easy. You made it look so easy, and goodness knows it ain't, at least not for a mere mortal like me :-) Well done!!!

The drums felt they were in my rooms. Very nice!!
Your vocals are great, as always, and the song itself is very ehh, very swinging.

And then that harmonica...mmm... loved it.

Howdy Nigel....
This is a cool write.
You have a good voice for this genre.
Smooooth and appealing vibe that just flows along.
Everyone else stole my thunder so I'm happy to echo all other comments.
Well done.

Your vocal and interpretation are always top notch. This has such an authentic sound. Good song that stays in your head!
Hi Nigel ...
A really cool song! Super Mix and great use of the BIAB RTs.
Many of your vocals remind me a lot of Boz Scaggs. In my book, that's a good thing! Casual, relaxed, somehat "breathy", and understated yet captivating. Wish I had even 1/10 of your voical chops!
Cool song and a great listen!
Alan

Hi Hans,
Thanks for all the generous comments - much appreciated.
Drums - yes I chose those Real Drums because of the snare has the perfect snare sound for my music. So I rolled off all the lower bass on the drums to give the Bass room to breathe.
