Hi all,
Here's a french song sung by Julia with her high purity voice.

https://soundcloud.com/christian-devienne/linsouciance-avec-julia

Lyrics translation :

Where is the carelessness that I loved so much
The one I felt when I was a child
It left my life, without saying anything, forever
It won't come back. Yet I'm waiting for it

A merry-go-round, hair in the wind
A giggle at the top of a slide
A walk with my grandparents
A hug in Mom's arms

Where is the carelessness that I loved so much
The joy that I feel, it is no longer that of before
But sometimes it's weird, my memory allows me
To relive for a moment the carelessness of a child

Chris,

Very nice chanson!
A very traditional and pure chanson.
Vocals are also very good.
I think it's a very chanson-like singing style.
As if I'm listening to Marie Laforet songs in the 60's.
I really like old chansons, so I fell in love with this song right away.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best regards.

Thanks Shigeki,
You're right! Marie Laforêt was one of the more beautiful voices of French chanson.

Beautiful chanson, and you put in some really good arrangement ideas.

Julia has the perfect voice for this genre. Great work by all involved.

Very nice Christian. I love the arrangement and mix. That acoustic bass and finger picking guitar sure work well together, and those bells or chimes give it a magical music box feel. I really like this post!

Christian,

Beautifully done . . . what a lovely vocal by Julia. The production is outstanding, and I love that little music box effect that you’ve added, accentuating the childhood references throughout. Great stuff!

All my best to you,

Deej

That's great. The chord progression is really good, and the instruments play it so well. And a beautiful vocal.

Hi Chris ...

Such a beautiful song! You and Julia should be very proud of this. Julia's voice is so soft and pleasant. And I love pretty songs written in 3/4 time. I enjoyed this very much.

I lived in Germany 12 years in the 1970s and 1980s. I used to visit Metz quite often and went to Paris twice. This song reminded me of Paris. Thanks for the lovely memory.

Lovely and nostalgic. I can understand how Julia's voice can be so inspirational, very intimate interpretation. Excellent chord progression and the music box melody completes the childhood trip.
