There is some very good basic theory information here and in fact I am going to send this out to a couple of my friends.
I think that "The idea is to think of theory as a framework to support and inspire your musical endeavours, rather than inhibit and rule them" is the most important statement for people studying music theory. I always say play from the heart then use theory to figure out what you did. Of course I mean while and after you studied theory.
