I took a chance on a Kustom PA KPX110PM 10" Powered Monitor to use as a monitor. It was only $100 delivered. I have been practicing with it all day and have to say I'm pretty impressed for $100. I will be using it in a duo so I think the 50 watt RMS should be enough as it sounds pretty loud to me. I got it because I just don't think I can get used to in ear monitors.

I bought the same monitor in a non-powered version, a couple of years ago. I've been very impressed with it. For a duo, I think it'll be just what you need.
