Sound designer EastWest will start releasing VST packages for guitar based midi controllers. The controller they have partnered with is the Fishman Triple Play.

Nice link and it shows what can be done with it - but why wait?

If you already have a FTP and one or more VSTi's and/or one or more external modules you can already can what Jennifer demo'ed - Not sure they you need to wait for EW?

Actually you can do everything she demo'ed with Jam Origins MIDI Guitar 2 - again assuming you have some VSTi plug-ins. HOWEVER, with MG2 you will NOT have ability to assign sounds to individual strings or fret board zones like you can with FTP (or any of the GK2/3 int4eafces - which can also do strings/zones) and that was NOT demo'ed by Jennifer in that video anyway.

I DO understand that the EW VSTi's (when they are finally for sale) will probably be conveniently pre-configured and pre-assigned to FTP's interface and zones (e.g., different sounds assigned to 6 channels - one sound per string, even if the same sound on one or mare strings) - but that is NOT unique or even HARD

There is not a single sound Jennifer played that I don't already have of at LEAST that same or BETTER quality.

If the EW packs are not over priced, and don’t require dongles or Pace (in my case too late I bite the bullet and have Pace installed due to needing it for UVI ), or if EW offers a PACKAGE deal FTP plus some libs for a great price then this may be something to look at.

BTW 1. you can get a Fishman FC-1 (a FTP Foot Controller) TO WORK WITH YOUR FTP - it interfaces direct to 5 pin DIN for external MIDI and no need for PC at all

BTW 2. Jennifer does a few other FTP demos on boobtube (sans EW stuff)
