Man! I've spent lots of money over the last year or so on tools for the studio and had pretty much decided I didn't need anything else.

Then waves come out with a new Channel strip from Andrew Scheps that looks great. On sale at the moment for $49.

To a novice mixer like myself this plug-in looks like it is a great learning tool. The channel strip idea of having all insert channel effects in one tool is useful as it helps a beginner visualize what they are hearing. The focus feature highlights the most important controls of each module. The presets give good starting points.

I looked at the manual. There are not many presets. The manual doesn't provide much information about the function of each included module or the module controls. It is definitely a learn by using plug-in.

I believe it would be a useful tool to add to the toolbox.
