Each year I accompany the choir in a Veterans Concert. The songs are almost all WWI or WWII vintage (e.g., Tipperary). We’d like to add some more recent ones, but they all seem to be protest songs (particularly Nam era).
Can anyone recommend some good patriotic ones?
Thanks.

Nothing comes immediately to mind but I bet you’d get more responses in the off topics forum.

I here you....and I hate it.

Anyway.....this one immediately came to mind:

Although I truly appreciate the sentiment of the song (especially during that era) and it's intention I wonder if most nowadays would find the lyrics self serving or cheezy.
I haven't heard that song since that era until this moment.
This one may not grab you but it got me to thinking.

If I have any epiphany to impart I come back....

Yes, a bit on the cheesy side (although this version alone has over 8 million views!).
There must be some better songs!

Chuckle....my neurons aren't having any success.
I was part of that era and have a quite bitter taste about it all.

I know I couldn't sing those lyrics.
Recognizing it's had the 8mil views it's probably a song that should remain in that era. smile

Good luck.....
