Something that I have been doing with my most recent vocals is to use a plugin that subtracts background noise from my vocal recording. This has helped noticeably boost the clarity of my vocal track.

The plugin is called ReaFir and is available for free use at the below link.

Interesting and useful. I wonder how much of this is done automatically in Ozone when you use the suggested settings?

I could be wrong but I think that it's the RX7 plugin that does noise removing in the iZotope family. I don't have any experience with this plugin but I suspect that it's very effective (given that Ozone is amazing).
