Whenever I export a song, it has up to 8 seconds of silence at the beginning (normally around 4/5/6 seconds, it's seemingly random). How can I stop this? What settings do I need to check?

I think I've worked out that the silence is basically the space where the lead-in drum beat would be, but when I deactivate the lead-in, instead of the song starting as soon as I play the exported mp3, there is a silence where the lead-in would have been. The length of the silence depends on the tempo of the song.

Is there a way not to have a drum beat lead-in at the beginning of the exported mp3, but so that the song starts from the very beginning rather than there being a gap?

Hi,

You need to use the very top menu for this. Click on "Audio | Export song as Audio File". That will give you access to disabling the writing of the lead-in to the audio file.

It's #4 on the image below.
