Very interesting. The varying widths on the marimba "keys" certainly adds a bit of complexity. I've often wonder what the difference is between these having seen their names pop up on several of my synths and VSTi's. Thanks for posting.

The M500 concert marimba has a range of 5 octaves, weighs 385 pounds and costs $12,500 US new. +++ HERE +++ is a music instrument retailer with additional information. I actually found the retailer site to be more informative than the manufacturer's webpage.

Meanwhile the +++ M55 +++ Vibraphone retails for about $4,400 US.
