When I watch this video clip, the only thought in my mind is "Liberace was a very talented pianist". I love his sense of rubato.

He certainly was an amazing performer. Extremely talented. Thanks for sharing. Got a laugh from the Carnegie Hall line.

Only Liberace could get away with that, and do it so well.

Back when television only had two colors, black and white, Liberace had a weekly variety show from 1953 to 1955 (I looked it up). His clothes were not as extravagant but even then he was such a superb musician and entertainer that I still remember watching his show. He played classical, jazz, country, ragtime and yes, chopsticks. Always had a candelabra on top of the piano or nearby. He had a thirty second or so song that he sang at the very end of each show, thanking the audience for watching his show. As you can tell I was somewhat a fan.
