"The Beat Goes On" = great bass line = composed (at the session) and played by Carol Kaye.

Oh yeah, she is great. I've watched this and every other one I could find several years ago. I thought it was interesting that she credits her training in jazz and latin to her pop success.

Don't know if you watch it but last season on the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (amazon original series) they had a character which I believe was inspired by Carol.
