This has reminded me of how how things are changing lately: A lot of musicians have actually moved to Patreon and have been live streaming gigs from their bedrooms or stages with no "audience" or even from recording studios during the pandemic. It has been really interesting to see what effect the pandemic has had on the music community which can and often is such a social thing.
