One of the best versions I've heard of this...

I absolutely love this song. Not this version, but the original.

And I learnt something new today. It is a Russian folk song.
Dolly Parton should never, ever be stereotyped. For decades, she has delivered amazing song-writing and singing talents to the world. This example is exceptional, but at the same time is no exception. Sensational talent.
This is from her 2005 Sugarhill CD named "Those Were The Days". According to +++ AllMusic.com +++, other vocalists on this song are: George Jones, Porter Wagoner, Brenda Lee and ... Mary Hopkins.
Wow - I really liked this! And kudos to lambada for linking the original too. I enjoyed both a kit smile Thanks for sharing!
Dolly Parton is so multi-talented, and it was really cool to listen to this and think of her in a different light.

Thanks for sharing!
I do like Dolly Parton. I just prefer the Eurovision Competition? version of this song.

Which would explain the Russian version being sung at the fade of Dolly's version. wink
That's very cool. I should have listened to the whole song.
