Yes, good question: which version do you have?
The Audiophile version is already 44.1, 16-bit audio (CD quality). If you need this and have another version, you can upgrade, and your wish is granted.
The other versions, assuming you are on Windows, do use WMA but the bit rate varies. Some are 128, true, but I've seen others at 192. I think it depends on the individual sound, since it's easier to hear compression on some instruments like acoustic guitar, acoustic piano, or cymbals.
Trivia: the Audiophile version includes all those same WMA files, too; it just doesn't use them. If you want to know more about this topic, you could read my article, here:
