Seems like the mixer ought to close itself when you select DAW mode. There is no need for it at that point, and it is just hanging out there at whatever size it was while the main BIAB screen is reduced to DAW mode.

I hate to sound dense but what do you mean by DAW mode? Are you refering to the Sequencer window?

I'm assuming they mean what I mean, which is the DAW Plugin icon, just left of the MIDI icon. When you have decided to use that to transfer the song to a sequencer, the mixer has no meaning at that point and just adds clutter to the screen.
