For Irish music this is a must. I know there are ways to get the 6/8 sound, but please add true native support for 6/8 (jigs). Bonus points for 9/8 (slip jigs).
Till then you could try Real Band, you can change any time signature to almost any other you want. Just click the signature box and add the change.

(if you are referring to notation, then you are correct, the 9/8 styles are notated in 3/4 and the 6/8 are notated in 4/4. Hopefully that doesn't stop you entering all kinds of jigs and other Celtic tunes.)
I think there's a way of obtaining odd time signatures in 8ths by editing any 16th based style in the style maker. Under the style menu select 'Expand style to 8th notes'. i haven't tried it yet using every style but it works quite well on some of them. Using this approach every odd time signature like 5/4 6/4 7/4 9/4 is treated as an 8th based one.
