In the interim, you might want to take a look at the Garritan Harps Library, which as do all Garritan libraries, plays through the Aria VSTi that comes with the library.

Have you tried changing an instrument voice to "orchestral strings"

This, i understand is the midi equivalent. You do neen to pick a style (or build one) that has pattern than would work. I have used a finger picked guitar in the past. It's not ideal but it can give you a reasonable sound.
