i like using the trade 4 with the soloist option, and i'd like to do that with the drums much like jazz groups do on the bandstand. i can't find a way to use a drum solo to do this . any suggestions. am i missing something??

How about these MIDI styles... (make sure to disable the RealDrums (which don't play 4's), by menu - drums - Force Drums track to MIDI.

JazzFours.sty A plays jazz swing, B takes four 4 bars of trio, then 4 bars drum solos.

... btw the solos on vibes are generated by the MIDI Soloist, an almost-forgotten feature that we introduced in 1996.
