MidiUserTracks very small easy to upload n share, good for modern dance beats.

Pipeline,

Would the UserTrack folder be filled with MIDI patterns and riffs accompanied by SGU file? So a MIDI UserTrack folder would contain sub folders and the sub folders contain MID/SGU file pairs?

Yes I think so, just have the .mid and .SGU
you could have it in the SGU it's self like the RealDrumCharts are in the Melody track.
OR further you could have a RealMidiStyle UserTracks where you have all your midi tracks in the BB tracks in the SGU with all the recorded material with lots of chords and variations, rather than how the normal midi styles are based on the C7.
So if there is no associated .mid with the .SGU it will use the BB midi tracks in the SGU into 1 multitrack midi.

To expand on this request...
There are many midi based styles available that were made for keyboards. To enable BIAB to integrate those styles was one of my requests in the past. Pipeline's proposition is interesting to me in the sense that I can see it as a potential to use a keyboard style sections in BIAB arrangement, by simply adding a track to the mixer.

For example, a User Midi track could be specifically made for intros or breaks, ending etc. With Utility track functionality development on horizon, that could be very useful as there would not be shortage of mixer tracks for elements or smaller parts.

RustySpoon#,

I may be wrong but I assume how a Korg, Yamaha, Roland, Casio, etc. style is created is proprietary just as PG Music's styles are.

It reminds me of ezkey
Ezkey has many MIDI packages, including intro, verse and chorus
However, ezkey is only for piano
I think if you want to conform to simple modern dance music.
MIDI should not only include intro, verse and chorus, but also voice classification, such as bell, plug, synth and lead
There are many others, such as guitar, bass and BIAB

If Biab could use those keyboard styles just like JJazzLab does, no copyright:

At the moment you need to open the Biab SGU in JJazzLab using the above styles and selecting the style section bar changes then export midi back to Biab.

Biab just has A B and Ending sections in the UserTrack that limits having more different variations.
But being able to regen at any bar or beat would allow users to select a substyle of the UserTrack, and having all other track types MST,UT,Midi style, loops.. to be able to change in F5 and regen in Util Tracks.

(Just rename the keyboard style file to .mid)

Jim,
There are thousands of user and third party created styles. There are plenty of converters that would just extract these to Midi sections parts. Unfortunately BIAB styles do not have much focused content for intros, fills, or endings. You have to craft it yourself with A/B, breaks holds etc.

I do have big expectations for Utility tracks, and hoping they will gain properties to make it possible to create these (intros, bridges, etc.) with ease from existing pool (*that means without workarounds!)

What pipeline suggested, could make it much more interesting. As you could have a Midi User track, for example for intro, that is specifically made for intros, that you would simply put on a single mixer track and mute at the bar where needed... and it would follow your BIAB chord sheet.

Once we get the ability to add any color to the sections this will make it easy to generate up any chosen substyle for that section giving the user more control rather than just an A B choice.

Pipeline, thanx so much for those JJazzlab links.

This is in Reaper but can be done the same in Biab.
The first Tab is the UserTrack source recording then the next Tab is fitting the source to your chord progression.

With the MidiUserTracks you can create MultiStyles for all the different song sections.

To add a previous request it would be nice to be able search all available midi parts outside of their respective style to add into the utility tracks. This can be done in BIAB but you have to select the style and then select the part. There is no way to search for just say all guitar parts and pick based on whatever tags they may have. Lots of extra trial and error.

Can't do any of it in the plugin as the feature does not exist there.

Being able to do this along with adding user midi tracks would be off the charts

PG won't add this feature because it's not good for their business, they cannot sell their style packages smile

I can make up a script that will read the Biab song.SGU then read a chosen SGU & midi file UserTrack then piece it together to fit the chord sheet. It will also play a Hold or Shot from the
UserTrack Holds.SGU
UserTrack Holds.mid
So the midi file will be created and then can be dragged into Biab or a DAW, might even be able to put it into a VST form.
