A very, very long time ago, I encountered a user forum that posted hundreds, maybe thousands of BIAB songs, from Golden Age to modern pop, to country, to...well, you know what I mean.

Unfortunately, very few of those songs are Christmas songs. I found Silver Bells, and that's about it.

Does anyone know if there is a similar repository of Christmas BIAB songs? Or could people contribute some songs to this forum?

Thanks very much. I'm compiling some rhythm section tracks (Bass and Drums) to accompany myself (on piano) and my singer for an upcoming set of Christmas gigs.

Norton Music has a couple of disks of Christmas Songs

Disk 15

Disk 40

The songs on the Internet from years past might have been in a Yahoo group.

Quality varies greatly with those free files, if you can find them. However, the quality of anything from Norton Music, linked above by VideoTrack, is top notch.

Perhaps Notes Norton can elaborate here a bit more on the content of the two disks. The first has 270 songs (amazing!) and the second has 150. Since there are some duplicate titles, are the repeated songs in the newer disk the same, or updated to match a newer fakebook?

Both of my Christmas Fake e-Disks are based on popular off-the-shelf Christmas books.

Unfortunately, because the copyright holders wanted either to deny me putting the melody on the e-disk, or charge me up to $2.50 US per song, the melodies would be incomplete, and the book would be terribly expensive. So there are no melodies or lyrics on the e-disk.

By doing the BiaB songs in conjunction with published music books, you can open the book, load the BiaB file and play/sing along.

Yes, there are duplicates between the two. Music books are like that.

But what are the differences?

The book that comes with Disk #15 is done in traditional Fakebook style. Mostly head charts, and so the songs on the disk are done that way. You can repeat them as many times as you like because BiaB does that.

The book that comes with Disk #40 is done in the Realbook style, with faux pen notation and more fleshed out arrangements. So the songs are usually pre-arranged. I try to do the songs without BiaB repeats, so you can rearrange them in BiaB to your heart's delight.

Important: The book does not come with the disk, it's an optional add-on. I provide a link to Amazon, simply because the prices are good, but you can get the book at your local retailer or anywhere else music books are sold. Full disclosure: If you buy via my Amazon link, I make 2.5% of the sale. It's no biggie to me if you want to buy it elsewhere.

Free Samples: If you look at the list of songs on the right-hand side of each page, you will see some of them linked. These are free samples, taken exactly as they appear in the fake e-disk. That way, you can try before you buy. I'd rather have a happy customer than sell to someone who doesn't like the product, so a few free samples are a good way to do that.

I don't usually visit this topic in the forum, so if you have any more questions, please alert me with a PM so I can answer them.
