Hi,
I think that the new Microchord and Motif functions in BIAB 2022 are great features but they would be so much easier to work with if there was a 'play' button within the editing dialogue box, which could let the user hear what the currently input microchords/motifs sound like. This could use a simple midi sound like the chord builder dialogue box has but would play the entire phrase so that the user can get immediate feedback as to whether the Riff sounded as required. This would be so much quicker then exiting the dialogue box, pressing play to regenerate the whole song and finding that you hadn't got the phrase quite as you want it. (An additional 'Play using Song Instruments' option which just regenerated and played all the instruments for the phrase being edited would also be awesome but I would settle for just the midi! :-)).

Another cool addition would be a library of pre-written chord/motif runs/riffs that the user could browse, audition and then just drop into the microchord/motif window (with BIAB converting the key as necessary!).

Many thanks

Regards, Aubrey
Microchords was a new feature this year and I’m very interested to see how it develops. For your second idea, I would love to have some new PG Music demo songs to study that use microchords.

+1 for preview of some kind.
I am thinking of two types of previews it can have. Either one similar to "in dialog"
of Multiriff, or even better, a non-modal MicroChord dialog that could simply use standard BIAB transport controls, without the need of closing out of it.

+1 for "pre-written chord/motif runs/riffs" But probably just as examples. I think it will be tricky to generate something useful that is premade that will "makes sense" in the context of user created (not demo) arrangement as a whole. But interesting idea.

+1 for Matt's "I would love to have some new PG Music demo songs to study that use microchords."

P.S. It takes quite a bit of patience to get it how you want MChords to sound, so all are good ideas.
"This would be so much quicker then exiting the dialogue box"
This was suggested the day it was released about having to exit dialog boxes to test things, but the reply was "this has never been an issue", but it has in the style picker and UserTracks and other dialogs.
Another vote of support for both suggestions.

There's the play button
UserTrack F5 Transport Control Tool
and the mini mixer to mute tracks
Style Picker Mixer (Control Mixer from Style Picker)
