I would like to have a feature in Band-in-a-Box to unmix WAV- or MP3- files as it is possible in various tools
like e.g. RipX DeepRemix etc.
Yes, this is now within the realm of possibility with Deezer, Spleeter and other related tools, although at low audio quality. It's like unbaking a cake, but if it works, it would be game-changing.
If you have Spleeter downloaded onto your computer, BIAB can link to it and extract tracks. The Windows version of Spleeter downloaded onto a computer has greater audio quality settings than online services. WAV and higher bandwidth than 16Kz is possible.

The link is available in BIAB from the Audio Edit Window's edit drop down menu.

I use this feature a lot and love it.

That was in Biab 2021
File > Import > Import Stems from Audio File...
maybe they forgot to take it out of the Audio Edit menu also ?

There is one here for Reaper

I just saw your first mention of this in the Video forum. I think PG Music will enjoy exploring some of the new tech.
The online site I tried some time back is still there https://ezstems.com/

There are free, open source programs, like Spleeter or Demucs that work really well for that. Adding that feature to BIAB would add more complexity to the program and requiere development resources without adding any extra value to BIAB, in my opinion.

BIAB can't (and shouldn't) do everything.
