Has anyone been able to get the sonic cell working on windows 10, just wondering if anyone knows a wee work around or ..?.

Any help appreciated .

I know you can use midi cables but I am trying to get it connected by USB if I can.

Howdy beatmaster....

I hadn't heard of the Sonic Cell so was curious and did a quick search.

chulaivet1966 I had seen one of the links above , the other looks more than helpful I am going to try this tonight.

Was hoping someone might post that they had tried this and it worked or not.

Thanks for your reply and the much needed Bump.

I hear you.....issues like this requires tapping all friendly sources. smile

I've always like the Roland (vs. Yamaha) sounds.
I still have the MVS-1 & MBD-1. (since 1990 or so)
Personally, I'm not enamored with the tactile cumbersomeness menu/scrolling interface but I checked this tutorial out of interest:
https://www.roland.com/us/products/soniccell/

.....it's obvious there are trade-offs/benefits of going this route.

Hope you get it resolved....I hate these sorts of issues too.

Carry on....

That's it all sorted and up and running, it really is a brilliant sounding module and the pre amps are fantastic.

Anyone need help with this will only have to chap on my door as I have made a wee d/load file with everything in it.

Great thread. I've had the SC for years and was using it on Win 7 until I upgraded to Win 10. I had read these posts from 2015 and 16 and they're the latest thing I could find. I've always been leery of installing a modified driver of any kind so I passed on those other posts. You are the first person I've read on this forum who actually did it. I would love to have your install info, feel free to PM me if you don't want to post it here. Thanks,

Bob

Bob

Will get back to you after work.

This hopefully should work for you as well, you are using the official win 8 driver ver .101 , from Roland site.

Like you I would not try it other wise.

I also need this Windows 10 info. In addition, is there a way to expand the memory on the Sonic Cell. At present, it only holds approx 50 MP3 files

First off this is the link to the sonic cell update to allow for 399 songs to be held on the usb stick https://www.roland.com/uk/support/by_product/soniccell/updates_drivers/2bf96db5-51b6-47ad-872c-3e7f0f6eb674/

The modification is really simple to make it ok to use it in windows 10 (just a little text edit you can even do yourself), you have to turn off the unsigned driver check by windows 10 though at least I did.
