Hi,

I frequently get the error message: "you do not have the RealTracks that is required for this style or solo".

I have the UltraPlus PAK for Mac, and in ~/Applications/Band in a Box/Real Tracks/ I see 990 folders, each folder having 24 .bt0 and 24 .m4a files.

Is it possible that there are styles that I don't have, or perhaps I've done something wrong in the installation?

Are there other explanations or ways to check?

Many thanks for your help.
Just to add, I have the .dmg files for RealTracks 01 to 277.

Is this all of them? I'm wondering if perhaps I could have missed installing 1 of them (there are 15 files) - is there an easy way to check this (since each .dmg file has different styles, with a non-straightforward mapping between RealTrack number and style).

Also, just to confirm, I have the latest Mac build (184 released on Nov 2).

Again, thanks for any help.
Welcome to the forum. In the Windows version of BIAB, we would go to the Options menu, What Add-ons Do I Have. Look for something like that on the Mac and you'll see a complete accounting.
Garry

If you have the Ultra-Plus Pak it's likely you don't have all possible real-tracks require for the styles.

As mentioned, check in the What Add-ons Do I Have item.

Also, if you can provide more detail of one of the styles you try unsuccessfully, we might be able to confirm further.

Welcome also to the forums.
Ive got 2017 ULTRA and if Mac has same RTs as Windows theres 277 sets excluding any Extra RT special buy sets so you should have them all.
Wendy is right; the UltraPak is supposed to have all the RealTracks except any bonus paks. I'm thinking some of the RealTracks were installed to the wrong place? We need more info to help.
Hi,

I'm resurrecting this old post, as I never did manage to get to the bottom of it, and I've just upgraded to the 2018 UltraPlus Pak, and I still seem to be having lots of missing files. I didn't provide enough information in my original post, so hopefully I have this time:

In the RealTracks Picker, I get the error message that some RealTracks are installed incorrectly, and that I should rebuild. When I select Rebuild and Fix, I get the following message:
42 RealTracks have r*.st2 iles in the BB Soloisgts folder, but no RealTracks in the folder /Applications/Band-in-a-Box/RealTracsks. Either install RealTracks again, or point to correct RealTracks folder in RT settings. Then press REBUILD button to re-build.
It then indicates that I should look atet RealTracks that are N/A. Including tracks that are N/A, there are 819 items in the list; excluding these, there are 573. Does this indicate there are 246 missing files (even after having re-downloaded all RealTrack files?)
Similarly, if I go to Style Picker and limit by Category, it shows the number expected for UltraPak, and the number found. Across every style, the number found is considerably less than the number expected. For example: EVERYTHING JAZZ: [UltraPak= 2029] [found=1662]; EVERYTHING COUNTRY: [UltraPak= 2470] [found =1887]
I spoke with someone on the online help, who suggested I should reinstall all RealTracks. This took a considerable time to complete, however, having done so, it has not resolved the problem.

In addition, I now notice that there are other things missing: if I filter in the Style Picker to styles with video RealTracks that are found/present, there are no styles showing, and if I filter by NOT FOUND, there are many showing. Also, when I use Open Song, many of the songs are greyed out, and can not be selected. Is this content also missing?

Under 'What Add-Ons, do I have, the following are listed under 'These Add-ons were not found':

My system is as follows: 2017 iMac; 4.2GHz i7, 32 GB; OS 10.14.1. I am using Band in a Box version 2018 (Build 258) and I have the UltraPlus Pak (2017) and the UltraPlus Pak 2018 upgrade.

Many thanks for any help. smile
Really hoping someone can help! Anyone?
I’m really sorry to hear this wasn’t resolved.

The Andy Laverne is normal; that was a one-time purchase several years ago. Many don’t have it.

The numbers you are showing appear to me to be a minor problem, but I’m not minimizing your desire to make sure you have everything. You’ve given us more data now - good. I’ll check my results against yours tomorrow when I get to my Mac.

If you call Support they can help, but right now they are slammed with questions about the new release.
Thanks for the reply, but it’s more than just wanting to ensure I have everything: it’s very frequent that I’m encountering file not found errors whenever I load RealTracks, which makes the whole program largely unusable for me, since I wasn’t looking to use MIDI tracks.

I have contacted support, but I appreciate they will be busy with the new launch, but hoping I can resolve it reasonably quickly.
Tech support were extremely unhelpful: the first time, they told me to reinstall the RealTracks file (around 20 files); after this didn't work, they just told me to re-download and reinstall everything from scratch, but on both occasions without first identifying what the problem was. I was hesitant to do that without first identifying the problem since if was a lot of files to re-download and re-install, without knowing if this would fix the problem, and whether there might be a more straightforward solution, if the problem could be identified. I was told that if I wanted more support, to call them by phone, rather than through the web portal. frown

Eventually, I got them to at least tell me that with my package, (UltraPlus Pak 2017, and 2018 UltraPlus upgrade), the BIAB folder should be 120GB+ (mine is 96 GB) - the RealTracks and Soloists should be 99 and 13GB (mine are 76 and 8GB) - so clearly, there is a lot of missing content, but that doesn't explain why. The problem isn't solved by reinstalled the RealTracks files (tried that), so it looks like I have no option but to start again, but that's very frustrating, since I don't know what caused the problem in the first place, and don't know after installing more than 30 files, whether this will resolve the issue...

I don't know if this will fix it, but I would have appreciated better tech support, to try to identify the problem.
So, since I had kept many of the dmg files to download, the re-installation wasn't so bad, and has worked:

In case this happens to anyone else, and the numbers are useful, I'll finish off the story: now when I look under the Styles Picker, I have 2391 in the list - this rises to 2471 when I include N/A files, but that's a LOT better than before (was around 200 showing before, rising to around 300 with N/As).

Now, when I look at 'what plug-ins do I have', it says everything is now included! Yeah!

Ok, now to go have some fun!
Glad you got it sorted out Garry, and thanks for sharing how it was resolved.
So I’m just making sure I understand: you solved this by reinstalling the files you already had, after verifying file size (as opposed to downloading again)?
Yes, the files I had downloaded were fine, but just reinstalling the RealTracks files was not sufficient. I had to delete the whole Band in a Box folder, and start again from scratch.
six years later, and the problem strangely seems to be the same one. sick

We need more info. Six years later, and I haven't seen this problem until whatever it is that you are reporting. If you want help, let us know.

2018 was an unusual year. All the folders in BIAB were reorganized. There is a Cleanup routine in BIAB even now in case someone missed the updates from then.
''I haven't seen this problem until whatever it is that you are reporting''.

Well, here's a hint of why the above has occurred: it's because, within the span of six years, you bought all the realtracks. whistle
''2018 was an unusual year''.

Don't we say that of every year? Anyways, the same has been happening most years. 2018 wasn't a special case, in fact it happens this year as well.

Now, of course, it might be the case that I am completely mad, and you are completely sane. Who's to judge?
2018 was a complete rewrite of almost all the folder locations. It has not happened before or since. Because of some questions that arose from this change (and that we fellow users were able to solve), I’d call that a special case.

So therefore if you start BiaB, select Help > What Add-ons do I have, please confirm that the display looks exactly like the highlighted one in this screen capture:
