Using biab 2017 everything &windows 10. I have been doing OK , but would like to mute or change the volume for certain instruments in portions of the song. Have tried highlighting and going to mixer, but that makes changes through out, so...how do I get only one or two instruments for a few bars without generating a solo?

I use the Bar Settings menu for this sort of thing.

At the Bar that you want the volume change, use the F5 key. In the Menu find your (eg) Bass and click the drop down tab to Mute it, make it louder, quieter and a whole lot of other things. In the example, note the little window to the right of drop down - reading "0" - you can increase that up to 127, which effectively makes it MEGA loud - go carefully there.
Always remember to change it BACK to what ever else you need when you have finished at that loudness, mutedness etc etc.
See my example where I used F5 on Bar 1 of my song.
F5 is a POWERFUL TOOL!!!
I hope this Helps
